Cultural Leadership Strengths And Weakness – Assignment Example

The paper "Cultural Leadership Strengths And Weakness" is a wonderful example of a management assignment.
African cultural leadership is based on defined rules and regulations set by the community involved. Leaders are sworn in according to the prevailing laws. It involves leaders inheriting leadership from their parents. This type of cultural leadership has strengths. The main strengths are that the leaders educate their children since childhood. The leader knowing their children pick a child with potential leadership qualities. The child as he grows is taught on how to lead people and what his people will expect from him. When fully grown in most cases they turn to be good leaders. However, the main weakness is that leaders come from specific people. In some cases, parents may have children without leadership qualities (Browning, 2013). The strategy used to encounter this weakness is through the council of elders. The council of elders after noting this problem will call for a secret meeting. In the meeting, they choose the closest relative who will take over the leadership position.
How is culture shaped by ecology and history? Please provide a specific example.
Culture refers to the characteristics of a given group of people which are their language, customs, and values, social relationship, a way of life like religion, activities they involved in that distinguishes them from other groups of people. Culture is shaped by the ecology and history of the group of people involved. The things around the people and the activities they involve in define their culture and also the history of the people, how their tradition was. For instance, the Chinese culture has been influenced by history as well as their ecological area. Their cuisine is influenced by ethnic and geographic diversity. Throughout the history of Chinese, there are only five recognized religions which include Islam, Protestantism Buddhism, Taoism, and Catholicism. Even though there is freedom of worship they are the known religion traditionally (Barmé, 2000). The spring festival is Chinese’s largest festival that begins each year.it has also been practiced in the Chinese tradition.
