People need to be supportive of arts, movies, and television shows for the innovations of tomorrow. Introduction How about if one day you wake up and realize that art, movies and television shows do not really exist in the world now? You will surely not believe what’s going on around you. But what if this comes true somehow? Imagine your kids shouting at you on Sunday morning to watch Ice Age 4, imagine your wife having the same hairstyle and dressing style since last two years. Yes, you are bored but you can’t say anything because trends are not changing, there are no new designs, no innovation, no fun, and no competition and consequently, there is no business. You are stuck at a position where there is no way out. Therefore it is better to be supportive of arts, movies and the television shows for they bring drastic innovations for tomorrow, new ideas and competitive business opportunities which act as an essential component of human life. Audience and Purpose Despite of the immense contribution of art, movies and television shows in building and bringing revolution in human life, people go against them due to some valid, but most of other invalid evidences. This paper aims to discuss the evidences put forward by both the sides in order to further evaluate them and reach to a conclusion. The primary audiences of this position paper are those individuals who are active supporters of arts, movies and television shows, in addition to those people who are against it. This paper will further strength the standing of supporters while giving a chance to the adversaries to think over it. On the secondary level this paper shall be presenting facts and figures for people who like to investigate different subjects with neutral standing over the issue. Thesis Change accompanied by innovation is a necessary element for the growth and development of society. In this age of technology where everything is depicted by the art, movies and television shows, one has to support them in order to achieve better position and innovative standards in future (Peterson). This has become an inevitable requirement due to the changing business and social trends as per the directions given by media which includes everything from essentials of art to the political and adventurous television shows (Dijck). They are responsible for making guidelines for the social structure of the society since it does not only represent the ideas of people in a society but it also directs their behavior and choices on a routine basis. This indicates that people need to be supportive in regard of art, movies and television shows since their innovative and prosperous future is dependent upon these factors of social structure (Hugh Honour). Background Human society is not just a mere combination of individuals sharing common ideas, rather it presents a complete social structure based on beliefs, customs, traditions, moral values, rituals, history, science and myths. All these components of social structure basically contribute to the development of art which is then defined as the key describing factor of any society, region or civilization. Since ancient times art has been given great importance as it has been a fundamental source of bringing change and innovations in a society which then leads to an optimum prosperity. Therefore even today art, movies and television shows are closely associated with the innovations for future (Hugh Honour). The movies and television shows are actually the extended and much innovated version of customary art and traditions. With the advent of latest technology art has also advanced and increased its horizon which has led to the development of stage performances and then finally to movies and television shows. These drastic and significant changes in the society indicate that art is a prime source of innovation for future. However, there are individuals who actually give the credit of innovations to the scientific advancement rather than art. This is mainly because they consider art as only a basis of entertainment which can be supported as a leisure activity but cannot be credited for its contribution towards bringing innovations. In relation to this they emphasize upon the point that art, movies and television shows are actually responsible for creating hindrance in educational and scientific development. Furthermore they stresses that media, which is the most influential force existing in the contemporary world deviates human mind and its ultimate capabilities as it directs their behaviors and practices complete control over their matters (Hanna Mizgajska). This indicates that art, movies and television shows might be a source of innovation for future but presently they are just contributing in deviation of masses which will bring disastrous consequences. Therefore they must not be supported. Rebuttal Those who actually defend the idea of supporting art, movies and television shows make greater emphasis over the business related aspects of art which is acting as a prime source in the advancement of corporate world (Tweedy). For instance, art and movies play a major role in overall marketing and business strategies. It is responsible for bringing new business opportunities along with innovative ideas. Similarly the television shows play a significant part in the success or failure of any product while on the other hand they are also in charge of increasing the customer volume through electronic marketing which has been proved to be the most effective and highly efficient marketing technique. Furthermore it is responsible for inducing creativity among the masses which enhances their confidence level and also provides them extensive opportunities of excelling in different fields of life (Adams). Art and movies maintain great historical records along with the details of customs and traditions of a country. In the present era the fashion industry has become an essential part of world economy and it is not at all surprising that most of the fashion trends and styles are put forward by the art, movies and television. Hence it can be said that art and its extended versions are actually contributing in the overall economic growth and development. Additionally television shows are a great source of exchanging information and building nations of the collective basis (Hippel). Rewording the Claim, Audience and Purpose The prime focus of this position paper is to convince people regarding the need of art, movies and television shows in order to gain innovation for future. People who believe that they do not require extending any support to the art, movies and television shows think that the major contributors of innovations are scientific knowledge and technology whereas art represents itself just as a platform of entertainment. Therefore they do not feel that there is any need to supporting this idea. While on the other hand, individuals who actively participate in supporting art, movies and television shows believe that they act as the most essential components of social structure which actually drives the human motives and directs their behavior. In addition to this art and media as a whole play a substantial part in the success or failure of business strategies which are directly linked with the economic growth and development. For instance, in the past centuries when movies and television shows were not present, then people were completely unaware of their surroundings due to which there were no rapid advancements. Clincher Research and analysis of the whole topic suggest that it is the prime need of people living in the current era to support and encourage art, movies and television shows in order to get innovations for future and frequent social, technological and economic development. Life without these important components of modern social structure would be free from challenges and innovations subsequently leading to delayed progress and ultimately resulting in poor living standards.
