Proper counseling usually offered to the infected helps reduce stigmatization. Homelessness is normally described from a human rights perspective as the right to proper housing. The commission of homelessness emphasizes that enjoyment of the right to an appropriate house is fundamental to the citizens (Gottdiener, et al., 2014). The right goes hand in hand with the right to life and lack of discrimination based on ethnic grounds, skin color, or race. Homelessness has arisen as a crucial human right and resources set aside to curb the fast-growing menace.

The vice having never been addressed as a fundamental right until recent past where measures have not had measures to eradicate and prevent recurrence (Gottdiener, et al., 2014). Homelessness attribution to different social, economic, and cultural diversities has been recently perceived as a form of social discrimination. The coalition for the homeless is determined to create measures that will bring necessary changes to the homelessness issue, and eventually bring to an end the menace that has affected many states in the world (Staff, 2009).

One of the causes of increased homelessness is the ever-increasing salary inequality, increased unemployment rates, and high poverty levels (Staff, 2009). Increased poverty is subject to unequal development and distribution of resources (Staff, 2009). In the past years, research has shown that inequality levels increase each day. Corruption and personal gains have elevated the gap where the poor and homeless continue to suffer while the few people in power share all the state's wealth (Staff, 2009).

The economic upheavals will still prevail resulting in increased unemployment rates in the states. The top earners keep doubling their wages at the expense of the low and unemployed citizens. Going by the current trend, unemployment levels will remain inevitably high. Unemployment has been the critical factor in the ever-increasing homelessness and low standards of living. The coalition of the homeless has initiated a campaign to address the poor housing crisis. Both and the society and the government are the blame ends for poor housing of its subjects — the adverse increase in poverty levels are attributed to the increasingly poor housing (Smith, 2012).

The government has put in measures to provide quality house as it is a fundamental human right. The banks have also joined forces to finance the construction of affordable housing to the people who could afford them at the set prices (Smith, 2012). The campaign will significantly reduce the number of homeless people. The advocacy will reduce the poverty level gaps and in turn raise the standards of living. Isolation and uneven distribution of resources and have demonstrated the different perspectives on the causes of homelessness in states globally (Smith, 2012).

Research has gone a further step to identify and criticize governments based on poverty levels. In a country like the United States, segregation is vivid in the USA metropolitans where African Americans reside. The hyper-segregation has persisted until recent reforms and developments to bring in the sense of belonging (Smith, 2012). The segregation has seen the ghetto inhabitants segregated from those who live in wealthy neighborhoods. The isolation has several negative impacts, for example, hundreds of black people perished in New Orleans city, USA when the town was hit by a hurricane (Fussell, et al., 2010). The city, which is characterized by lowlands and landfills that were destroyed by the tides.

The people living there were segregated from the rest due to their poverty levels (Fussell, et al., 2010). The area is a risky area to live in, but due to lack of proper housing and segregation, they opted to reside in the vulnerable terrains. Lack of government support to the victims clearly illustrated how the society does not care for the minority and impoverished groups in the community (Fussell, et al., 2010). It is apparent that homelessness due to segregation has a racial basis. Racial discrimination is a breach of fundamental human rights and must be prevented at all possible costs.

In conclusion, the right to proper housing is fundamental to every citizen and must be accorded without discrimination on either race or social status. Homelessness is a vice that has to be eradicated from society through proper guidelines to seize it and prevent future occurrences. Both the community and the authorities have to join hands to provide adequate housing. The quality of accommodation will reduce poverty levels and lead to economic growth in the informal sector.
