This system intends to investigate the possible user responses to improvement in transport networks, by collecting sample opinions of clients based on the services they have received in the inherent situation, before the application of the Intelligent Transport System and their resultant responses after the introduction of the system. The system combines data and information from a predefined information base and the prevailing traffic condition and generates supportive controls for the traffic users.

There are various ITS systems that have existed in the past in various forms such as Advanced Traffic Management and Control, Traffic Sensing System Technologies, Induction Loop Detector System, and Image Processing Sensor. The present state of transport infrastructure management uses Loop Detector as the prevailing sensing technology. It, however, faces difficulties. For example, the image processor has not been fully successful. The challenges, which this project addresses, include challenges related to efficiency and effectiveness.

These include constructions, reduction of lanes, and traffic flow bottlenecks. The other categories of challenges include safety challenges such as traffic crashes, traffic congestion, and vehicle breakdowns. Using numerical calculations, the proposed Intelligent Traffic System will be able to advise on specific actions and measures of parameters to observe in the improvement of the transport system.
