Beijing, China is worth hosting 2018 youth Olympic Games Introduction A capital of thrilling extremes, glittering skyscrapers, and an unfathomable forbidden city is the picture everyone gets with a full view of China. The country has assumed a rapid growth and the use of modern technology have turned the country into one of the deposits of the rich imperial history. A visit to this city of China is fascinating. The breath taking tai-chi moves around the parks, the lake front serenity of the summer palace presents this part of the world entirely in another echelon. Nights in Beijing capital are the most intriguing (Jarvie, Hwang, and Mel, 2008:112). It presents into a full glare, the spicy hot port on lantern-lit ghost streets that live every individual mesmerized. As a bid document for Beijing, China towards The 2018 Youth Olympic Games, this paper justifies the countries capability in hosting the games. Demographics This capital city is China’s political, economic, cultural and transportation center covering an area of 16,800 square kilometers. The city is characterized by a semi-humid continental climate, which will make the country a daze of excitement for the visiting participants of the 2018 Youth Olympic Games (Xu, 2008:198). The entire nation welcomes the chance to host these forthcoming games and the world will be opened to see the numerous palaces, imperial gardens, temples, pagodas, stone carvings, and captivating chronological sites. Economy and Government China has grown to become one of the super powers the world is taking pleasure in. With its deep-seated technology and the good international relations, the country’s economy pledges a full support in hosting this prestigious world sports. The country has sustainable and reliable services, which gives a guarantee to establishing the necessary facilities. The infrastructural ad architectural designs are best suited to meet the international standards of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). After the country’s stable economy successfully sustained the previous 2008 Olympics, the country has shown maturation. The economic is unwavering and the ongoing indoor preparations are true picture of how the country is ready (Alexandre and Mendes, 2011:3). The government fully pledges support. It is in good faith that the government will want present a prospect to the entire the human race how democratic, refined, open, responsive, and harmonious it is. The government guarantees universal human rights. The word of honor assures the world freedom of movement, thought, conscience, assembly, religion, association and access to information elaborates the seriousness of the host government. Chinese institution fully complies with the Olympic Charter, of promoting a peaceful society through preserving human dignity (Luo, 2001:103). Experience of hosting events The country is not amazed by the magnitude of such events. After hosting the 2008 Olympics, China has amassed great experience and the challenges brought forth by the event forming the countries grounds for research and innovation. The fast and vast developments in infrastructural facilitation have been the grounds for future hosting of events. In the area of security, the arrangements put in place have ensured that the security breaches the country had experienced will not crop up. The government has seen the implementation of security bills that raises the international security standards. Accommodating and maintaining the welfare of the visitors remains the biggest priority for the in as the country prepares to host these events (Liu, 2011:7). Tourism, Infrastructure and Connectivity In recent years, the number of tourists in Beijing has risen rapidly. Winning the bid will further increase the visibility of this country and attract more. The fact that there is an up surge in tourist attraction reflects the accommodative nature of the country, and visitors’ guaranteed security. Olympics games form the magnetic path to attracting tourists in any country. This creates the desire why the country reiterates that winning the bid is of maximum importance. The country has been flocked with international scholars who find the within the country’s systems appealing to live in. the commercial villages, improved commercial services, hotels, star lit hostels and infrastructure are all leading zones of tourism attraction in china. Beijing from a greater perspective is well prepared top host these marvelous events (Tseng and Rodlauer, 2003:98). After spending a staggering $1.1 billion on transportation improvements, such as building and improving Beijing’s sub-way systems, the country stands on one of the best transport system in the world. In due course, the city light rail system will be on operation and this will coincide with the initiation of the Olympic Games. Beijing’s refurbishing of streets marks just how the city will be magnificent. Highway roads have been built surrounding the sporting grounds by Municipal. This will help in easing the movement in and out of the city, and the hosting grounds. The picture of the country’s infrastructure is well fit to guarantee and convinces the allocating committees of IOC surrender the position to the people of china (McBeath and McBeath, 2010:81). Plan for 2018 Youth Olympic Games Venues The completion of the Olympic park, the 37 stadiums ready for use and available arenas across the beautiful cities of China raises the degree and standards for, the country to secure the prestigious ticket. There would be 59 training centers and infrastructure for the Paralympics. The national stadiums are in the state of art, design, and comfortable competitive grounds (Tseng and Rodlauer, 2003:47). Accommodation In the recent years, the Beijing government, agreed on the renovation and upgrading of international hotels. The country boosts of state of heart accommodative areas such as, prime hotel, regal court hotel, and Crowne plaza Beijing Wangfujing. These all are magnificent structures that have wide accommodative departments for the interest of visitors. There are also mechanisms in place to create make shift guest suburbs that will accommodate sports men and women. These procedures, upon conclusion will see the welfare of the visitors be kept at heart. It is in the wish for the Chinese government to make the sporting extravaganza a home for all those who bear visiting (Preus, 2004:131). Economic impact and development The country has witnessed a great inflow of support towards the preparation of such an event. This has created a doubling in the annual percentage of the China’s economic growth. As a consequence, the areas surrounding the capital have reaped from such immense preparatory procedures (Gill, 2010:172). Optimism is high in securing this 2018 license, which with no setbacks will oust Chinese in its economic opulence. The preparation has also seen the recruitment of other Olympic partners, sponsors, suppliers, and innovative companies that are willing to tap the available advantage presented by the eminent chance of winning the Olympic hosting license. The preparation will see the social media partners reap abundantly from the planned massive adverts and creation of awareness. The Chinese committee is allocating this chance to not only the home social house, but also the international media and social sites. This chance will amount to greater benefit to not only the china government, but also the whole world will benefit (Feenstra and Wei, 2010:109). Environmental impact and improvements The Chinese government is creating global awareness of the Beijing environmental challenges. However, the less than optimal air quality, which is witnessed in winter, is currently on the process of being improved. The government has taken steps such as installing coal-burning power plants to reduce emission. Over 200 hundred heavily polluting factories have been relocated away from the city to create conducive air quality for the visitors of these event. Air quality will not be a worry for the athletes. This projected is estimated to spend $12.2 billion for the welfare of the people. Moreover, the city offers wastewater treatment plants, solid waste processing facilities, green belts and a fleet of clean buses and carriage terminal from the athletes and the visitors. Preservation of forests, wild animals, wetlands, and geological formations has been the norm of the Chinese government and this will be enjoyed if the event graces that country (Tseng and Rodlauer, 2003:89). Improvements required The country cannot guarantee an excellent service provision during this period. The world’s divergence in culture creates different preferences and tastes. To solve this uncertainty, the Chinese government, through the legalized service providers, has come up with short-term mechanism to provide for the suits and preferences of foreigners. The modern Chinese food may prove to be a challenge for the quests. The caterers in the country are working to bring the best delicacies in this sporting event. If the legal right of hosting favors the country, Beijing is ready to deliver to the expectations of the people (Lu, et al., 2007:29). In provision of human rights, the Chinese government has pledged a commitment to abiding to the Olympic charter of making the sporting event a ground for full exploitation of human freedom (Schebera, 2006:56). In this respect, the country will not impose its long-standing traditions upon the athletes. They will rather enjoy and exercise their freedom while making their participation a success. These two tenets are on the immediate course of perfection and the government is on top of the agenda. Funding the Games The Youth Olympic Games (YOC) financing is guarantee from the YOGC for the competitions to run concurrently until the end. The planning and the implementation committee, estimated the total cost for the games would amount to $49 million for the summer and winter games. As the tradition for these games, the YOC sponsors the expenditure cost for the athletes. Through the sitting committees, the YOGC will pay the host city al the expenses of the sportspersons. These will include, transport cost, hostel expenses and the cost of the coordinating judges (Liu, 2011:2). As for the hosting country, in this particular, Beijing-China, the infrastructural upgrading and sports ground construction and renovation will cater. The country will not rely on YOC funds for the better presentation of these sports. Since this YOG will essentially premiere here in Beijing for the first time, the government of China has attracted international sponsors who will help the event run smoothly and gain market from their services. Since the YOGC is confident that these games will be of a success, the country is further promoting an international publicity to attract more sponsors. This is an optimistic approach owing to the number of interested corporations. For the Paralympics participants, the government of China is proud of-announcing assured sponsorship on equipments from charity organization of Beijing if the country wins the veto to host this time round. The figures presented prove the readiness and the eagerness of the Chinese government to win the tender for hosting this event (Liu, 2011:4). Legacy of the games Every country that wins the veto host such games of magnitude stands t benefit in many aspects. The economical impact associated with these games is of great value for the host country and of insurmountable boost. Hosting of these games creates a bumper harvest. The economic gain in lending of the hotels rooms, conference rooms and related services boosts the economy in greater extend. But for the Beijing, Government, there are mechanisms in place to make the prices for these services affordable despite the global high inflation rates. Moreover, these Youth Olympic Games bring together the largest peacetime event in the world (Tomasic and Xinting, 2009:37). This is a great pride to the host country. Beijing social status and world recognition will be put into another level of appreciation. The country’s successful bid rights will make Beijing a short destination for tourist fro, the entire world. The proposals for Olympic parks, Olympic stadiums, and aquatic centers bring about a lasting, legacy for the country. The sporting psyche and perception in the host country is reinvigorated. The facilities lift the country’s standards of sport to a global status. The commitment to improve the infrastructure has a huge economic impact as well. The broad range of services will concentrate a long life impact for the nation of Chinese. Ultimately, the hosting of these event has far reaching implication than the bidding itself. It is a humble global opportunity, for any country to raise its social opulence. The Olympics will provide this opportunity to China to secure the benefits for future generation.
