Summary Modern Meadow is a company, which produces meat and leather without killing animals. Forgacs and his father started with a company known as Organivo, which produced engineered human tissues. The engineered tissues were sold to the drug companies to test new compounds. The blood vessels, muscles, and tissues manufactured by Forgacs’s company were tested and it worked well. This convinced and motivated Forgacs that he can enter into a business where he can produce meat and leather without killing animals (Pappas & Andrei 61). Biofabrication is a process whereby tissues are extracted from the animals and multiplied into millions. The multiplied tissues are used to produce leather and meat for consumption. Some tissues are extracted from the animals and taken to the lab to be used in the production of meat and leather (Pappas & Andrei 264). This innovation is favoring animals, as they were no longer slaughtered for meat and leather. The animals will increase in the number and this will be a beneficiary to the government. This is because the animals of all kinds of species will be available. This will attract foreign revenue for the respective countries, as tourists will be attracted to come view animals. In addition, the cost of feeding the animals to be slaughtered will reduce. This is because there will be no more feeding targeting the animals to be slaughtered. Instead, the money will be diverted to other activities like the research on how to improve the technology of engineering tissues and other innovations. The grown leather has the same characteristics with those of natural leather. They are durable, elastic, and smooth. The land, which could be used to rear the animals, will be used to build structures like laboratories, industries, and factories, which are useful in producing modern leather and even meat. The environment will be clean as there will be no waste disposal from the hides and skins of the animals (Cettolo & Marcelo 119). It is easier to sell the lab grown meat and leather as compared to other types of food and leather. In addition, this innovation will be a beneficiary to everybody as job vacancies will be created and many people will be employed. The incentives will not make individuals perform their creative tasks at peak efficiency. The employees should be surprised with bonuses and rewards after accomplishing their duties. This is because they are not fighting to accomplish a certain task to receive the promised incentive. Instead of all this motivations, purpose, mystery, and autonomy should be emphasized. This is a reliable, practical finding, which has crucial implications in the business and community at large and it should be well known by everyone. People are not born, as they will be in the rest of their lives. This is because they will work hard to do something more than themselves (Pappas & Andrei 182). In our lives, many people have come to respond irrespective or against other people’s suggestions. We have been autonomous and we do things, which promote autonomy. Many people usually enjoy doing certain types of difficult duties and they will be the pride after they accomplish the difficult goals or ambitions. That is how they have learned to work towards the mystery of certain tasks. In our individual lives, many people have learned to be permanent members of different types of social groups. In some situations, this is based on the goals the group is determined to accomplish or based on individuals they like. It has reached an extent whereby when the group breaks, they look for similar groups to remain its members. Many individuals have learned one characteristic from the group. This is the act of accomplishing tasks, which it could not be accomplished when working individually. This means that we have learned to work towards the largest purpose in our lives (Rubenstein 229). These long-term traits are more valuable in accomplishing our duties than temporary rewards and incentives from our employers. This does not mean that the rewards and incentives we received and those we are going to receive in the future are not important. Environmental folklore is important as it enables us to do the right actions in our lives (Pappas & Andrei 96). Complex systems are the major causes of the environmental impacts. Complex systems should be handled in a way that it does not affect the environment. There are three major systems which include; ecological, human, and industrial systems. Ecological system is the whole planet where human and industrial systems operate. This contributes to the environmental impacts because of the operational tasks undertaken by the other two systems. The only way to reduce the ecological system impacts on the environment is to reduce and control the impacts of the other two systems. In our industrial systems, measures should be taken to reduce the emission, which pollute our environment causing harm to human beings, plants, and even the greenhouse effects. This will lead to the emission of smoke to the environment. They should transform to the current sources of power to avoid such emissions. The drainage systems from the industries should not be released direct to the rivers, oceans, and even lakes (Cettolo & Marcelo 107). Instead, they should be treated to avoid any harm that it can cause to the aquatic plants and animals living in water. What we should learn in our daily duties, is to do more with fewer impacts on our environment. Wastes should be destroyed in a way that it does not affect the environment. Most of the time people destroy wastes by burning which will affect the environment. This will affect the content of the soil at the same time it affects both animals and plants when smoke is emitted. Recycling should be used where possible as a way of destroying wastes. This will assist in getting raw materials to produce other products and it will not affect the environment in any way. Systems should be designed to produce products, which will not affect the environment. For example, paper bags should be produced instead of plastic bags as polythene.
