Question Poor relief/social insurance Poor relief considers the possibility of allowing the less fortunate an opportunity to free their finances from the various economic obligations. Apparently, the economy is subjected to various costs, including aspects such as the medical and consumption. The government may consider allowing a sense of relief in some of these sections through the incorporation of subsidized services or the freeing of the tax burden. The significance of such actions rests on the implications they stand to have on the population, especially the targeted poor minority. The prospect of having the authority associating with some sense of remorse towards the promotion of the respective entities of fairness in policies and programs involves the understanding of the challenges that are associated with the population. The gratitude expressed under the perception of poor relief is expected to trickle down to the concern of social insurance. Such is advised by the prospective impact of such relief in the shaping of the social dynamics. Kenneth J. Gergen highlights on the essence of such actions towards the promotion of an ideal but functional society through the involvement of comprehensive policies. The author argues that indeed normal development allows the respective population to attain their social goals (76). Such implies that the prospective role of the authorities in the promotion of a sense of fairness in the description of the characteristics of the social reliefs allow for the growth of the involved communities. In such regard, the embrace of relief measures may be described to be associated with the prospective improvement in the social integration. Apparently, Gergen argues that indeed the promotion of ideal communities and opportunities extends to the generation of healthy relationships. Regarding such perceptions, it may be argued that indeed the observation of relief initiatives for the poor contributes grossly to the eventual realization of social insurance. Citizen wage/welfare state Citizen wages and the welfare of the state may be described to be rather entangled in respect to their implications. Citizen wage reflects the income associated to the members of a singular political territory. Such income is described by the economic ambitions of the state, as well as various financial variables that define the activities under engagement in the region. Income remains the best indicator of the welfare associated to the state. Apparently, low citizen wage implies that the nation is engaged in non-productive or non-promising ventures. Higher incomes points on the extended version of the ventures and production initiatives under engagement. It remains apparent that the promotion of ideal wages of the citizens implies the possibility of little actions by employee lobby organizations, hence the subsequent implication in the promotion of the stability of the nation. Such further extends to the possibility of having the citizens promote the welfare of the nation through the adoption of measures that will promote the considered generation of wages. Beth A. Rubin (23) reflects on the American Dream as the ideal reflection on the impact that stands to be fetched from the inclusion of ideal wages and the welfare of the state. She argues that indeed the adoption of ideal wages allows for the realization of the established goals and obligations by the citizens, hence promoting the eventual improvement of the welfare of the members of the state. Fiscal crisis/deregulation Fiscal crisis considers the instability of the monetary policies embraced by the respective governments in relation to the perception of growth and development. Failure of the financial policies to steer the economy towards its considered growth attributes to the concerns under fiscal crisis. Allowing the occurrence of such crisis implies on the possibility of engaging into emergency policies in the hope of mitigating the effect. Among the considered approaches of mitigation include the concept of deregulation. It remains apparent that the development of a fiscal crisis stands to jeopardize the progress of the involved state or nation. State regulations are considered as being ideal in the promotion of harmonious behavior in the adopted fiscal policies. They may include the development of details on the expenditure programs, as well as the considerations of the depths of the tax net. Deregulation implies that the policies are to be lessens or reduced in respond to the considered fiscal crisis. Deregulation may be undertaken prior or during the onset of the crisis. Beth A. Rubin (120) proceeds to argue further that the prospect of having the policies mitigated in respond to the expressions of the fiscal policies may be advised by the subsequent nature of considered crises. The depth of the deregulation policies is thus founded on the intensity of the crisis under consideration. Signs that the planet is in trouble The prospect of the planet being subject to a serious crisis following the eventual presence of subsequent concerns of global warming and environmental degradation are rather eminent. The signs of a troubled planet resonate on the notable features that indicate the possibility of having the planet suffer from artificial disasters. The signs of a troubled planet are anchored on the prospective nature of the respective obligations that are vested to its resources. A planet is anticipated to feed its inhabitants as well as replenish its resources. Human consumption leads in the demand for increased nourishment from the planet. However, a description of the subsequent consumption behaviors expressed by the considered consumers allows for the reflection of the possible signs of a troubled planet. The progressive unpredictability of the weather, emergence of deserts and the subsequent rise in temperature remains regarded among the leading concern to the safety of the planet. Others include the extinction of some species from the face of the planet. James Howard Kunstler (67) argues on human action being the central cause of the environmental troubles of the planet. Activities such as oil mining and the subsequent consumption have lead to an improvement in the carbon emission in the atmosphere, leading to an increase in the global temperature and the subsequent occurrence of unpredicted weather patterns. Features such as snow peaks and the ocean levels have suffered from the observation of these trends. McKibben’s 3 terrifying numbers McKibben’s numbers are sourced from the respective agreements embraced by a society with respect to the mitigation of the advancing climate change. They are deduced from global forums that have been prepared in the preparation of the eventual fate of the planet as perceived under the respective concern of climate change. Apparently, the three terrifying numbers aim at illustrating the risks that are associated with the various decisions embraced by the involved stakeholders. The agreement to hold the deviation of the global average temperature at an utmost of 2 degrees forms the first number. The agreement was made at the climate conference held at Copenhagen by the course of the year 2009. The second digit focused on the prospective contribution of the human population in the promotion of the carbon emission. An estimate by scientist on the quantity of carbon emission assumed to be an additional contribution by the human population was placed ay 565 more gigatons, hence the second number of terror. The emissions were associated with the progressive consumption of oil through its subsequent burning in liberation of energy. The third number was extracted from the tabulation of the available fossil energy that is at the disposal of human endeavors. The number was tabulated along the possible carbon emission that stands to be emitted from the subsequent consumption of this resource. The evaluation led to 2,795 gigatons, which was considered as the third number of terror. Allowing the release of such gas in the atmosphere will lead to the observation of the greenhouse effect, leading to the eventual realization of the prospective increase in global temperature past the considered 2 degrees Celsius. Such implies that the snow peaks and ice in the polar ends will be subjected to extensive liquidation, thus leading to an increase in the ocean level, and the subsequent occurrence of flash floods. It also implies that some land will disappear after being reclaimed by the increasing water. It also signals of the subsequent cases of unpredicted weather and the concern of droughts in critical regions such as Africa. Question 2 Concerns captured by James Howard Kunstler reflect on the possible capacity of meeting the energy interests associated with the contemporary world. A reflection on the needs of fossil fuel as perceived by America points on the progressive generation of engines that have little regard on the levels of consumption under expression. It remains apparent that the subsequent interest of addressing the unrelenting desire for fossil oil will eventuate into the overwhelming of the available resources. The interest of the energy associated with the combustion of fossil oil is accredited to the extent of activities it stands to support. Apparently, the concern of energy being regarded as the primary entity upon which the prospective aspect of production is considered remains critical in the elevation of its contribution. The subsequent rate of discovery of new wells that can support the considered adjustment in the consumption demand remains rather wanting. The early phase of the twenty-first century saw the establishment of only countable number of new wells. The subsequent alienation from key aspects of energy generation including coal and natural gas in the favor of the proven methods such as fossil oil assists in sounding the alarm of concern. It limits the possibility of adjustment in the future as a measure of addressing the foreseen overwhelming of the considered resources. Arguably, the possibility of having the engines under development being oriented on a different model of energy dependency remains best judged along such perception. Such implies that the society is only associated with a singular solution in respect to the mitigation of the concern. Arguably, the only avenue upon which the promotion of the respective entities of production may be achieved involves the commitment of the involved stakeholders in addressing their margins of demand. Such implies the possibility of downsizing as the ideal approach in the address of the impending crisis in the demand of fossil fuel. It remains apparent that the path towards the stabilization in the consumption levels as a factor of the eventual wealth of fossil energy associated to the planet, remains best balanced by lowering the rate upon which novel engines are developed. A further down adjustment in the combustion capacities of the available engines allows for the mitigation of the impact associated with the challenge. The desire to proceed with the reliance on fossil fuel as the elemental source of energy for the planet needs to be captured along the invoke of behavioral and industrial ambitions. Downsizing should be embraced by every single stakeholder involved in the dependency of the fossil oil as an ideal source of energy. Arguably, the progress in human activity may not allow for the discarding of the contribution of energy in the promotion of economic growth. The risk that faces the planet revolves on the subsequent failure of having sufficient fossil oil to support the respective elevation in the consumption demands. The process of downgrading remains best described along the contributions associated with the leading players in the energy struggle. The United States and China are among the leading countries in the combustion of fossil oil. A downsizing initiative that is supported by the two countries may eventuate into being a critical step towards the address of the considered challenge of supply. Embracing the considered levels of change as anticipated by the involved states, implies that there exist numerous avenues upon which the implementation of similar policies may be achieved in the rest of the countries that are associated with the consumption of fossil oil.
