The American Workplace It is important for organizations to formulate policies that could lead to the creation of a family-friendly working environment. In certain instances, although not stated by law, employers need to give their workers a leave from work (Goldman, 23). For example, through the Parental Leave Pay organizations need to give parents a four-month leave with full pay. This is to enable them to care for their newborn baby or a recently adopted child. The American workplace becomes family-friendly if employees have the chance to keep their jobs after giving birth.

The most helpful action is to have the company create a forum that enables working online from home. This ensures convenient handling of urgent work issues while serving the family. Sexual harassment in the workplace is a major offence in law. Organizations need to ensure that every employee feels safe without the fear of sexual harassment. Sexual discrimination in the workplace acts as barrier to career development and growth. This is because the process of job promotion relies on sexual favors resulting in bias during the process of performance appraisal.

Most of the employees have their own families and organizations need to ensure the termination of the services of employees that violate the laws against sexual discrimination and harassment (Goldman, 47). It is important to become honest and faithful to the family during work. After working hours, it is necessary to attend to the needs of the family. In medical and family leave, there needs to be equality among women and men. This is because both parents have equal responsibilities over their family in relation to their level of remuneration.

For medical leave, employers need to ensure that both men and women receive the same amount of time off work. This is because medical conditions affect anyone and the situation is only manageable through medical attention. For better performance in the working environment, it is important for employers to provide health insurance for their employees (Goldman, 56). This ensures that the employees seek medical attention without the fear financial limitations.Work CitedGoldman, Alvin L., Labor Law and Industrial Relations in the United States of America. 2nd ed.
