Should drivers of automobiles be prohibited from using cellular phones?" The present era is a technological age. Technical advances have made life easy and people highly approachable. The invention of cellular phones is one of the finest inventions that have contributed to the comfort of individuals and just a click of a button enables a person to talk with anyone from any place or could be reached by others who are trying to establish contact to convey messages. It is easiest and fastest mode of communication.

On the other hand, driving entails concentration, any kind of deviation may turn out to be disastrous. Individuals procure license for driving without getting much expertise. In such situations while driving if someone contacts others or if others are trying to convey message, the driver gets sidetrack presenting a situation of jeopardy for self and for others who are in vicinity. Accidents happen all of a sudden. Some may be lucky to be out of the danger and only minor injuries happen, while it could be devastating for others, where there is a loss of a body parts, or permanent impairment takes place or people may witness death in severe cases when the impact is high and driver is careless.

The causes of accidents could be- 1. When talking on phone the attention of the driver is diverted to the conversation and the driver pays little attention on the road as a result the driver gets little time to react and take necessary action to prevent the mishap. 2. Talking on the cellular phone also keeps the driver away from hearing the horns of the vehicles at the back or vehicles overtaking. This may culminate into accident. Causes of accidents could be varied which are prevailing from yesteryears, encompassing eating, drinking, trying to pick the fallen entity or stress, deep thoughts etc, but in the present epoch one of the leading causes that is responsible for the road accidents is conversation over cellular phones while driving. 3. There could be arguments that if important information is to be conveyed then it becomes essential to converse over phone while driving, but considering the serious propositions and repercussions of the cellular conversation it becomes necessary to avoid talking over phone while driving.

The basic rule that needs to be adopted is to stop the vehicle at appropriate location and then communicate with the caller or then one can make the call. It is the most responsible and sensible act not to converse over phone while driving a vehicle. Considering the serious implications of cellular phone, conversation while driving around forty nations across the world have banned the use of cellular phones while driving for the safety of people and to prevent catastrophes. People may have a say that there are a few who put loud music while driving which could prevent them from hearing the surrounding sound so why not cellular phone?

The matter is serious as the cellular phone requires the drivers concentration while the music does not. The driver can concentrate on road with mild volume of music. In the rush areas such music should also be stopped and concentration should be absolutely on the road. Moreover, one should keep a cellular phone so that contacts could be made with police or emergency services in case of urgent situations if one come across any accident while moving on the way and the injured needs medical attention.
