Team Identity and Project Management Team Identity Team identity is critical in the realization of the set project goals within diverse organizations. As such, it will be critical to evaluate several factors that make our time suitable for the project of raising funds for human appeal in Syria. Owing to this, our team has created a strong team identity, based on the values that each member has to uphold. To begin with, though our team meets once a week, all the members have demonstrated exemplary commitment towards the realization of the set goals (Muller& Turner 2007, 299). Additionally, the cooperation and each member contributions through email connectedness, our team perceive a timely realization of the intended objectives. Besides, the project that our team endeavors to undertake is original. All members of the team are new, and this ascertains the contribution of original ideas, hence the project is deemed successful (Wills 2010, 158). The team, based on the individual membership needs, has ensured that each member feels comfortable and is in the capacity to air any concern that may influence the goal realization. Failure to discuss team commitments clearly may have negative impacts that may hinder meeting the objectives of the projects owing to various aspects. For instance, some members may have secreted agendas within the team. Additionally, the members may make misconceived assumption against the objectives of the team (Muller& Turner 2007, 299). This may also compel the members to come up with diverse unjustified expectations. Team identity leads to trust, role elucidation, and overt prospects. It will be critical to discuss the expectations and objectives of the team (Snedaker & Hoenig 2005, 151). Additionally, all the members will clearly understand their commitments, contributions and the time span for the project. My Qualities as a Competent IT Project Manager In the application of the position of an IT Project manager, I consider myself to have the necessary competence and emotional competence and intelligence required to ascertain the objective realization of the project in question (Snedaker & Hoenig 2005, 151). To begin with, I have vast knowledge and experience of such projects, with virtually all the projects that I have handled realizing their set objectives. Moreover, my academic competencies in IT and related projects significantly boost my capabilities of realizing the objectives of the project. I deem myself, as have exceptional communication skills. This is a significant feature, since I will have the capability to communicate with diverse stakeholders that include the members within my team, the clients, and the company headship (Wills 2010, 158). Besides, I ought to communicate the objectives, role of the team members and the expectations of this project. I will also be able to give a well-timed report pertaining to the development of this project. Additionally, owing to the set expectations and placement of enough significance of the projects, I trust my team in working relentlessly to the achievement of set targets (Muller& Turner 2007, 299). As such, I delegate impressive responsibilities to my team based on trust. This highlights the significance of the objective achievement within such projects, and this capacitates the completion of the project within the projected time. Besides, the project calls for a strong, cohesive team. As such, it is my duty to ascertain team harmony, and make certain that each member understands his or her role and places all their efforts and to the intended projects (Wills 2010, 158). I also believe in sharing the visions of the project with my team, and this makes them belong to the project while boosting their competencies in their tasked duties. This calls for the use of effective leadership skills. I also encourage team members to create their own visions, relevant with the set tasks of the project in question. Leadership Characteristics in Project Completion As a leader, it is crucial to use my capabilities in the employment of my team in ascertaining that various projects go through the completion stage. It is crucial in managing the project resources and individuals carefully, towards the attainment of the set objectives of such a project (Muller& Turner 2007, 299). As such, it is significant to clearly highlight the expectations and the objectives of the team, and thereby motivate my team towards the objectives’ realization of the project. I believe I am most suited for an IT project in various aspects such as the implementation of information systems within an organization and the implementation of IT towards a fast and efficient productivity. This is cited on the fact that I have vast education background in IT and other related courses. Besides, I have successfully completed other similar projects that require implementation of IT systems within an organization. To the selection panel, I believe I have the necessary transformational qualities that better places me for the completion of the said task. I am an apt team builder, where I intend to build a cohesive team, based on the skills and the cooperation of dissimilar individuals with assorted competencies. I intend to inspire my team members to surpass their self-centeredness for the utmost benefits of the organizations. This will critically aid in the realization of the set objectives (Muller& Turner 2007, 299). Besides, I believed in efficient and well-informed decision-making processes that will significantly aid in solving dissimilar challenges within the project for goals’ delivery. I also believe in innovations, where I promise to work in various projects, despite their current states, and work towards their improvements for their ultimate success. Owing to my selection of the position of an IT project manager, it will be critical to undertake various training programs, in order to boost my capabilities within such projects. This will also be critical in perfecting the already acquired skills within such a project, owing to the current dynamics of technology. As such, it will be imperative for me to improve my learned skills in effectively managing the project, while honing my skills in efficient communication skills (Wills 2010, 158). It will also be critical for me relearn the executive proficiency and understand the predictable change stages within the project, since this will be significant in implementing my already acquired leadership strategies within each project phase. Based on Lynn Crawford’s classification, I believe it will be critical in improving my inputs through training. These include my learned knowledge and skills essential for the completion of the project in question. Though I believe that I may be better placed enough for the project, increased training owing to the dynamisms of the project will be crucial (Snedaker & Hoenig 2005, 151). I will also need to sharpen my core characteristics, and highlight them within the project. Additionally, I will boost my inputs, which include capabilities to execute the project successfully. Besides, I will need to demonstrate my core personality traits to the team, thereby highlighting the significance of meeting the set objectives and expectations of the project. Stakeholders’ Analysis Stakeholders are critical in a project, since they have significant influences to the completion of such undertakings, owing to their vital interests in the project. As such, stakeholder analysis is critical, since it ascertains the objective realization of dissimilar projects (Wills 2010, 158). All stakeholders, either friendly or unfriendly, have a significant impact to the execution of various projects. Stakeholders’ opinions are also significant, since they may be applicable in transforming the project, particularly at the initial stages. This will ascertain their support of the project, and also ensure the efficiency and boost its quality. Based on my apt communication skills, I will be capacitated to inform the stakeholders of various project developments in time, and thereby explain to them the course of my actions. This will be beneficial, since it will ascertain their support, and thereby make spontaneous changes where necessary. Such an endeavor will ensure their satisfaction, and the project completion is likely to be successful. While working with dissimilar stakeholders in numerous projects, it is evident that I may be able to predict their feedbacks over various phases in project development. As such, it will be vital in creating a plan, aimed at incorporating their rationales within the project in time, and this will be critical in winning their advocacy (Muller& Turner 2007, 299). Before undertaking various changes within the project, it will be significant to consult the stakeholders for critique and appraisal of such endeavors. Besides, stakeholders’ satisfaction will be based on their rank, and significance of their influence in the project. Program Management Methods A program entails a number of diverse interrelated projects that an organization classifies in order to execute them together towards the realization of the institution’s predetermined objectives. Diverse organizations implement various programs, with the specific objectives of the ultimate improvement of various organizations. One of the program management methods is the MSP, which is an acronym for Managing Successful Programs (Muller& Turner 2007, 299). The elasticity of MSP is critical in managing, directing and management of tasks, recognizing, defining and executing programs.MSP is imperative in organizing employees and having an unambiguous communication channel. MSP also serves as the building blocks for the transformation process within a mandated project. The first step involved in MSP is organization and the vision statement of the assigned program.MSP then puts significant importance to the management and stakeholders’ management. The method also considers the benefits understanding and the management structure of the programs. The next step involves blueprint proposition and the delivery of the objectives (Wills 2010, 158). The next phase involves planning and control of various factors within the project. The method then characterizes the principles the project will consider in the design of the business case. It is also imperative to mull over the risks and emerging issues on management. Quality management occurs as the last phase in MSP.
