Collaboration in life creates a broader horizon that is fruitful not only for single individual but for all involved in strategy. Collaborative planning is a planning that is a shared and established collectively for the attainment of certain specific goal. Strategies are developed so that collaborative effort is done. The term collaborative planning was established in 1990s while creating planning theories. In the year 2007 Stadtler defined collaborative planning as a joint decision making process for aligning plans of individuals SC members with the aim of achieving coordination in light of information. Collaborative planning results in better strategy to attain the essentials with coordination of individuals. According to (Dudek, 2009) collaborative planning became famous due to “Collaborative planning, forecasting and replenishment”. This planning is non-hierarchical. It creates coordination between the people involved for the achievement of a goal. It is a way that interlinks other planning processes with different domains. This planning involves all the individuals signed with planning in such an interactive manner that the knowledge is productive. It contains all the acts that are done in practice. The central idea of collaborative planning is that a similar vision must be kept in mind by all the team members and all must know that what when and how things are to be done. It is compulsory that all know and indulge them to attain that vision. Knowing a vision is not the main thing. How to attain it is the main job of all members involved in collaborative planning. Main features of collaborative planning: Collaborative planning is can enhance teaching, learning or any other work done according to this strategy. According to (Foreman, 2014) collaborative planning involves team work in which each team member is supportive to each other and make an instructional plan to get the vision. The main features of collaborative planning are interpretative process, communication, mutual interest of all members, flexibility and encouraging factors. Collaborative planning is an interactive process in which all the members coordinate with each other. The communicative feature is an important factor that makes up collaborative planning. A wise man is always necessary to divide the work. Task should be planned in dividing keeping in mind the skills of the person (May, 2009). The communication between the members creates a productive and reproductive environment. All the team is linked with each other and knows what and where to support other. New ideas are always welcomed. A good strategy is that allows new ideas so planning should be flexible enough that it can easily adapt the new ideas. The team members should be sincere enough to the work. Trust should be developed and maintained in between the individuals. All these features create collaborative planning. This creates a strategy to work together on small as well as macro scale. Motivation and encouragement also creates new and effective ideas to form. While making collaborative planning size should be in mind. As group of people are involved so a great input is available. How to get best out of them should be planned. Strategies must be set to get through the process of through put and get a best output. Planning is always successful and effective if the output full fills the required outline. Different views of authors on collaborative planning: According to (Dudek, 2009) collaborative planning is a business planning that is a broad task. He used domains to further explain the main concept of collaborative planning. He specified planning processes. Another author says that collaborative planning is a relationship in which all partners work to get goal that they have agreed upon. (Stadlter, 2002) Philip wrote that collaborative planning emerged in 1990s in the theory of planning and he listed collaborative planning as a term in urban literature. In 1997 this term was used in order to refer the work of Healey. (Allmendinger, 2005) In presenting collaborative planning Healey stated that this planning explains why urban areas are in making policies. His definition indicated the practical importance on a broader criteria and the model created by him also is wide ranging. Olaf Schroth explained collaborative planning as participation style or approach. He explained the characteristic of collaborative planning in his book. He laid more importance on communication as compared to other characteristics. According to (Schroth, 2010), the interaction was most important but he stated boundaries too and stated when how why and how far communication is required. In the book behavioral operations in planning the author explained two folds of collaborative planning. He first explained this planning and then later explained the relationship and qualities to interact. He stated many theorist concepts and said that successful planning is when each member collaborates with each other. According to (Fransoo, et al., 2010), all the authors have a basic similar concept that is that collaboration in work with all partners for same purpose. Collaboration planning shares the work load and a master piece is developed as many minds work together. The authors have laid importance on communication. They specified that collaborative planning involves interaction. This factor lacking in strategy can be a drawback for the work been conducted. Most of the authors have stated the two domains. This shows that domains are important while defining collaborative planning. Collaborative planning and urban planning: Urban planning is a way that is concerned with the utilizing and planning for the welfare of the people and providing all the possible facilities in the urban environment. Now a days it is emerging in socially and economically. With the increase in the number of population in the urban parts of the world, an effective and a wise planning is required. According to (Susskind, 2009; Alfaro, 2013) urban planning is a profession. Special training is given in this regard. Collaboration planning is submerged with the urban in order to attain the goals collectively. The strategies are set in such a manner that the vision is attained of urbanization with coordination of individuals. (May, 2009) stated that there lies a crucial factor of urban planning. It is that it depends on the demand of people that make up the urban area. He said that urban planning is a tuff time which requires time to be accomplished. If the urban planning is done with collaboration the work load is distributed and hence with the help of collaboration planning a time taking project is accomplished in a short span of time. So one can say that urban planning and collaborative planning are linked. Collaboration planning lies in urban planning. In order to get the strategy of urban planning collaborative factor is must to get through. To work out all these factor specialist are required. Only a specialist knows how both ends can meet. Collaborative Planning and Architecture and Urban Planning: Collaboration is a key point to success as many ideas coming in all partners mind get jotted together and form a master piece. This strategy is applicable in every field of life. Working on large scale for welfare needs a great planning because without backward thinking nothing can be achieved. Similarly architecture and urban planning also involves collaborative planning. Strategy are set to know how, when and who will work forming a new structure. With the increase in the world population urbanization and globalization is increasing rapidly. New and new projects can be achieved in short span of time with collaboration of partners. Specialist sit together to form strategy and planning. Urban planning emerged with collaborative planning contribute a lot in the field of architecture. Wise planning is always at the back of a big solid structure formed by architects. Before forming any architecture a plan is created to know how a certain specific goal is to be achieved. Designs are created and a proper criterion is set. While making the criteria it is observed that how quick and effective is the process. Work to be cited is planned and collaborative factor is included. Views of all members are brought into count and thoughts of all members are respected. This is the key to avoid all the conflicts that may arise later in doing a work (Fransoo, et al., 2010). Issues of collaborative planning: Issues are everywhere even if maximum perfection is shown. There are also some issues in collaborative learning. Pros and cons are better to be understood at the initial stage to that conflicts later can be avoided. According to (Thousand, et al., 2010) there exist many issues regarding collaborative planning. Major are the one concerning time, management, communication, trust and others. It is necessary to see that who will carry out which part. Issue lies in fulfilling and coming upto the level of responsibilities assigned. The lack of communication and interaction between the team members who are carrying out collaboration can cause a lot of misunderstanding. This results in weak strategy. Proper management is a must in every organization. How, what and when certain thing is to be done according to planning should be exercised and observed. It is common observation that sometimes more than one person wants to lead the group and conflicts arise. Strategies though stated still conflicts occur. So a tension environment is created in the group rather than working with tolerance and unity. Some may lack leadership skill but still made leader can result a worst situation and effect the work to be done wisely with management. Sometimes variation occurs in working. Everyone wants that their working style should be adopted. In doing so the work process gets slow and sometime even shut down. This results in great loss. So some time collaboration may create restless surrounding and conflicts among people may become downfall of progress (Foreman, 2014). Conclusion: Now a day’s world is getting more and more urbanized. A wise planning is essential to meet the entire requirement. A collaboration planning is getting involved in many aspects of life to reach our destination. Unity for same purpose result in betterment rather than doing on individual level. Coordinating with each other with a strategy set increases knowledge and a person comes to know more of each other. Many authors around the world have given same view regarding this planning and have emphasized on the importance of collaboration planning in the present era. They have explained how one planning is interlinked with other and help in getting vision accomplished before time.
