Does Blood Pressure matters? (Lab results on blood pressure) Revision instructions: Abstract It is important to understand the blood pressure. This is the exerted force on the walls of arteries by the flow of blood pumped by the heart. This is recorded as systolic and diastolic pressure which is the maximum and the minimum pressure during the time blood is pumped and the heart beat. Day to day heart complication gave me the need to conduct this medical experiment. It is medically important for everyone to check the blood pressure to avoid heart complications. Blood pressure (BP) is one of the primary vital signs .It refers to the force that is exerted by blood circulation against the walls of blood vessels. Blood pressure can be described as the arterial pressure in the systemic regulation. The hearts’ pumping action is mainly the cause of blood pressure. The resistance of flow caused by blood vessels influences the rate of mean blood flow. Blood pressure measurement is conveyed by measuring the pressure at the upper right arm of a person and refers to pressure of the major artery found in the upper arm and the brachial artery (Pesola, Pesola & Westfal, 2001). Blood pressure in a person is usually measured in millimeters of mercury (mmHg) and is given as an individual’s systolic pressure over diastolic pressure. Blood pressure can be normal, low or high. High blood pressure (hypertension), is a chronic medical condition whereby, blood pressure is elevated in the arteries .This causes the heart to pump harder than is normal so as to enable flow of blood through the blood vessels. Hypertension causes major health risks such as, artery aneurisms, stroke, heart attacks, and chronic kidney disease. According to my experiment and analysis on the causes of blood pressure, I discovered that the individuals who are liable to have high blood pressure condition in their body system are the obese, persons who smoke, individuals who drink excess alcohol, the pregnant mothers, and too much stress and the inactive individuals or lack of physical exercise. During the measurement of the blood pressure, the optimum pressure in the arteries as the heart beats and does the pumping of blood is measured. This is known as the Systolic pressure. Diastolic pressure which is the minimum pressure at the moment when the heart is beating and pumping of blood is also measured. Though there are many other medical procedures of measuring blood pressure which includes the automatic gauge system , I however in my experiment, I employ the use of the electronic device where I used cuffs which I wrap around the arm of my patient. Introduction Before understanding what high blood pressure is, it is important to know what blood pressure is. Blood pressure is the amount of force the blood arteries accommodate during the pumping of blood. This kind of force could either be low or high. Blood pressure comes with very serious and dangerous ailments in case it is higher than the level expected. According to medical record, one person in a group of three individuals in the United States of America has got a high blood pressure. However it is not easy to know who has high blood pressure or no since the symptoms cannot be seen, though the effects can be deadly. This is one reason I had to conduct an experiment on individuals claiming to be free from high blood pressure, to know and be able to provide solution to this phenomenon. Introduction High blood pressure is a primary cause of shortened life expectancy. Physicians have frequently recommended diet change, drug prescription, dynamic exercise and aerobic exercise in order to rest BP. The long term effects of physical training on resting arterial blood pressure have been studied widely over a long period of time. This report seeks to quantify the benefits or lack thereof of the benefits associated with physical training on resting the blood pressure. That is to establish if the reports of exercise increasing BP are well founded or are unsubstantial. However the high level of blood pressure can actually be harmfully to health. In that it can lead to heart ailments. Also kidney damaging, loss of vision, stroke angina as well as memory loss can as well be as a result of high blood pressure my experiment is so that I can encourage various individuals with blood pressure on ways they can reduce the pressure and those who do not have high blood pressure to learn the ways of avoiding it. Systolic and diastolic are some of the measurements which describe blood pressure. Systolic is the high level of heart beat as the pumping of blood goes on, while diastolic is the low level of heart beat or a time when the heart is not beating or lowly beating and the pumping of blood is low. Actually in the medical research it shows that about 69% of individuals who suffer heart attack are as a result of high blood pressure, also on the same 77% of the American people suffer stroke as a result of it. Heart failures are also a medical report of high blood pressure tolling 74% of the American people according to the same report. From my findings high blood pressure can be reduced and avoided as much as possible through various ways which one can adapt and live with them. The individuals who already have the diagnosed with high blood pressure must take a very serious observation to the prescription of the medication. It is very important to pay attention to every detail doctor is giving. Be a manager of your own self by doing what is required in order to meet the goal of good health. Apart from the doctor’s prescription, one can be able to manage hypertension or high blood pressure by opening up willingly to a new lifestyle. This is by adjusting him/herself unto conditions which will be of great help for the health. Observation of your diet is one of the ways to reduce or avoid high blood pressure, remember to avoid too much salt in your diet as well. As a result of obesity or excess weight, individuals of such caliber can easily be affected; furthermore avoid too much alcohol and smoking. It is advisable to do lots of physical exercise to reduce fats in the system. It is also important to be able to manage stress condition which will immensely assist in reducing the chances of high blood pressure. The hypertensive effect of physical training on people with hypertension remains highly debatable. However it was clear that a short session of low to moderate intensity lowers BP for a period of up to 13 hours afterwards in subjects with hypertension. A majority of adults exercise in the intensity bracket used in this experimental study which would also translate into walking, either leisurely or briskly. Thus this study further quantified the benefits of low to moderate physical exercise in the lowering of BP in cases of hypertension. Thus the report provided scientific data to show that exercise does not increase blood pressure. Are you a victim? Medical research states that about 30% do not have an idea about their conditions. However it is important to have information about this sign-less ailment. Adapt a lifestyle of healthy living this will improve the medication, reduces the risk of having kidney ailment, stroke as well as heart attack, heart failure can be a very deadly diagnosis, even though it has a link with High blood pressure, in case you experience shortness of breath or even unending cough, loss of strength completely or nausea, these are signs of heart failure caused by hypertension, getting to know about this will enable you to avoid chances of HBP. Physical exercise is also good in ensuring that the rate of blood circulation and heart beat is ok. It also assists individuals with weight problems. In order for you to avoid medication, choose a lifestyle which will help you naturally to prevent high blood pressure and possible contraction. As for individuals who have a doctor’s prescription, ensure that you keep it up to date. Methods used. During the experiment, the materials I used to conduct it, included; 1. Stethoscope. 2. sphygmomanometer Electronic I used the electronic blood pressure device where some series of steps are taken into consideration. It is important for anyone who would like to test for blood pressure to be relaxed and comfortable. This was my first step I took. Moreover some other steps are as follows. I wrapped the arm of the patient with a cuff which inflates and has a tube with an attachment of a bulb with a rubber. The device has got component that includes mercury. Every pressure available is shown on its column. The arm is tightened by the pressure increased by the blown cuff. I placed a stethoscope on the arm of the patient as I listened to the pulse rate. The pulse sound could be really be fainted after sometime. When the sound of the pulse had reduces completely, I now measured the Diastolic pressure. The units for measurement I used are the recommended millimeters of mercury. Results After the blood pressure test on the patients following results was recorded. This however is to give you a guideline to know if the blood pressure is on the safe level. , if not you will have to consider taking the necessary steps in improving it. Which include the medical consultation from professional doctor to advice on what need to be done about the condition? Furthermore it is medically advisable to seek medical attention in case you notice your pressure is not balanced. This will help in avoiding severe ailments like heart attack from developing. Conclusion In conclusion my advice to everyone I that, knowing your blood pressure is a medical right to avoid the aftermath disbelief, remember the symptom of high blood pressure is narrow but its effects are critical and can cause serious ailments on the body system. Heart failure being one of the effects is not a basic ailment because it can lead to death on extreme condition; the preventive mechanism is advisable to be adhered to in order to avoid the secondary infections. Check on your pounds from time to time to avoid the escalation of your blood pressure, observe the body fitness by doing physical exercise.
