Challenges for Healthcare Administrator Vision, mission, values, and culture  Vision and mission are one of the most important aspects of a health organization, as they set the course of action for the administrator and the team. A daunting challenge in this regard is bending the mission/vision with the practical measures that the management can humanly take. It is one thing to set the course and quite another to walk that line. Therefore the administrator needs to incorporate certain elements that might not resonate with the staff but they certainly do with the patients, for instance; patient comfort and care is the primary obligation of a healthcare facility, this needs to go straight into vision/mission.

Culture represents a lesser challenge in comparison with vision/mission challenges. Culture is evolutionary, even if it’s a health organizational culture. The real challenge here is to make people live according to visualized culture. The soul of the organization reflects through this culture. Clearly defined roles for the staff are mandatory, without that there can be confusion which can lead or organizational chaos.

Retaining, successful and long-term relationship with physicians and professionals is a huge challenge but it is in itself very rewarding.
