Managing Resources to Promote Quality and Safety Developments in technology have enabled rapid growth in many sectors in the economy, computerization in the sectors results to an efficient, reliable and accurate mode of conducting activities in the organization. The health sector’s implementation of this technology will enable medical staff to utilize available resources for the benefit of the facility (Mahoney et al, 2007). Technology will reduce the medical errors affecting the health sector and ensure that all resources can be accounted for in the facility.

Information technology in the health sector has enabled physicians to reduce medical errors thus increasing the clients visiting the medical facility (Devine et al., 2010).Technology has enabled the physicians to store client information in the data base. Information store covers the patient medical history and family background. The physician will evaluate client’s information before prescribing the recommended form of treatment (Agrawal, 2009). Medical cases such as wrong diagnosis and administration of allergic medication can be prevented.

For prolonged ailments, the physicians will be able to evaluate the treatment given and prescribe an aggressive approach. Information technology gives the physician the knowledge needed to provide quality medical care. Medical errors can be reduced improving patient safety and providing quality services (Mahoney et al, 2007).Implementing technology enables the medical team to make informed decisions when taking care of the patient. The cases of medical errors will reduce over time, and the medical facility will become efficient in providing quality medical care.

Shareholders may be concerned with patient’s privacy and the cost of installing the hardware in the medical facility (Devine et al., 2010).Errors related to human factors will decrease due to information technology. Losses made by the organization due to patient loss can be reduced. Revenue collection errors will be minimizes with information technology. The medical facility will dedicate the funds to improving healthcare. Return on investment can be measured through assessing the number of returning patients.

The revenue generated can also be used to determine return on investment (Mahoney et al, 2007).ReferencesAgrawal, A. (2009). Medication errors: prevention using information technology systems.
