I personally believe that a learning environment must be enjoyable for both the students and the teachers. A class is the place which most of the teaching activities takes place. This means that for the success of teaching a well managed classroom must be in place and there is a need for good institution and planning. This will involve proper arrangement of the room. The purpose for this is to ensure there will be no frustrations in finding teaching or learning material during the teaching session. Management of the classroom will always be gin before the students enter class the very first day (Grossman, 1995). This is whereby, the terms assignment will be ready for them. The purpose for this is to give the students a focus during the lesson. They will get the impression that they are in school for learning purposes and any other activity is prohibited. The directions for seating or the sitting arrangement will be given by the teacher right on the first d ay when they enter class. A well-managed classroom entails consistency. Research question Does the strategy of classroom management contribute to the good performance of the student? Classroom management Classroom management refers to the process of a teacher ensuring the lessons in the classroom runs very well irrespective of the unacceptable behaviours from the students. This also entails the process he teachers ensure they prevent all the disruptive behaviour from the students. This is very important areas for the success of teaching as well as learning on the side of students. It should be noted that it is very hard for a teacher to regain control of the classroom once they lose its control hence the need for them to work hard on that area (Barbetta et al., 2005). A research has proved that the time a teacher will take to put forth some corrective measures for some indiscipline in the classroom due to poor classroom management consumes much more time leading to an academic performance decline on the side of the students. There are some factors that are associated with classroom management like motivation, respect and discipline. The strategies involves in the management of classroom vary depending on a number of factors like the age of the students, the type of student (normal or physically challenged), the level of institution ( primary, secondary or tertiary) and the individual teacher’s philosophy. A well managed classroom entails consistency. Personally, I will ensure there is great consistency. This is in respect to issues like established boundaries, rules and consequences or punishment implementation. Every classroom must have guiding rules for the students. There are also set boundaries of the relationship between the students and teacher s, among the students and the aspect of respecting each other’s properties. Establishment of penalties or punishments for the students who will be breaking the rules will be very important. Each of the rules will have an established punishment, which must be enacted to any student who breaks the rule. This will help in establishing order in classroom (Barbetta et el, 2005). Some of the rules will include noise making or disturbing others during the learning process, lack of courtesy to another person, not observing the boundaries and failure of completing assignments. There will be a sense of responsibility sharing. This is whereby all the students as well as I their teacher will have a responsibility which will make us all have a voice in decision making on the matters of classroom without necessarily making the student feel inferior through dictatorship from the teacher. The students for instance will be involved in the setting of rules so that they will have a feeling of ownership hence helping them develop respect for the classroom environment. Engaging my students in issue like feeding any animals in the classroom, calling out the register to mark the absenteeism register and make a follow up , helping check each other’s assignments and ensuring the cleanliness of the class will give the teacher ample time to attend to other important matters hence success Classroom management strategies for young children Many of the educators of the students in the preschool face so many challenges in classroom dealing with the small children and especially in trying to improve their social skills for the purposes of decreasing challenging behaviour from the kids. It is hard to understand why some of the children display challenging behaviour in classroom unlike others but the most important thing is for the teacher to have the knowledge required to deal with the challenges. Some may be due to risk factors like exposure to some abuse, violence and poverty (Kauchak & Eggen, 2008). It has been proved that the teacher in charge of the young children who exhibit challenging behaviour when give effective strategies and trainings for the management of classroom and the behaviour of the children improves the environment of the classroom as a result the performance of the students too is greatly improved. One of the most successful ways of classroom management is when the teacher implements some strategies, which ensure the problematic behaviours do not exist. This is whereby the teacher defines clearly the acceptable and the unacceptable behaviour to be displayed by the students in classroom. The rules laid down by the teachers phrased into some positive statements and then converted into easy to understand statements as per the developmental abilities for the students they should also be few in numbers, must have very limited texts and should be easily depicted in the form of pictures (Shobe, 2003). Another strategy, which is very important, is ensuring there is a positive reinforcement whereby the teacher encourages the students to use the best social behaviour as well as skills when in the classroom. This will not only promote or improve their academic performance but also improve their social growth. The use of group contingences helps in dealing with the whole class behaviour whereby the teacher rewards the specific group which keeps up to the requirements and standards that are set up by the class. Maintaining a respectful classroom environment is another strategic way of achieving classroom management. This is because all the students in the classroom feel a sense of belonging and security. The teacher needs to be keen on noting the student’s interactions as well as making a follow up to ensure him or her deals with any form of intolerant behaviour of harassment and social exclusion (Shobe, 2003). The student must be able to respect their fellow students and the teachers. In addition, they should be in a position to respect each other’s properties. This means that if the teacher in the early childhood class perfectly instils that virtue in the students then they will also grow up knowing the dos and the don’ts. Approached for solving classroom challenges in primary schools Approaches for solving or management of challenges in a classroom must be in such a way that they provide a clear cohesion of the rationale for one’s planned approach as far as the challenges identified are concerned. This must be captured in the statement of one’s personal philosophy and its application in the real hypothetical situation. Challenges involving conflict in the classroom will be approached according to the situation. One of the main tool for solving all the problems or challenges is emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is of paramount importance as far as learning environment is concerned because it makes a way for enabling the assessment of the needs of students. It also gives the means of assessing the abilities of the students for the purposes of improving the quality of teaching (Villa & Thousand, 2000). This also leads to maximization of learning choices, the participation of the teachers as well as the students and by doing so they are able to get along with each other better because of the fact that they are able to be in a position to embrace each others opinions and ideas. Through this the students are in a position to align their own personal goals with the school where they are learning and also make some adjustments especially with respect to their own expectations. In addition, There are two main option for resolving the existing conflict in the classroom namely knowledge sharing and motivation. Through motivation the students will feel a sense of responsibility to do their best while through improving knowledge sharing students will be able to share the most important information they get to learn that is important in their learning. The following are the main details the two approaches will help solve the situation. knowledge management entails the different strategies, methods, practices and ways that have been laid by a particular classroom to represent, create, identify and distribute as well as adopt to the experiences and insights observed in the process of learning (Weinstein et el, 2003).. Knowledge management in any kind of institution is very important because it is one of the ways through which any institution can attain institution excellence as well as avoid conflicts. There are number of factors that still lead to a slow knowledge sharing and management in the classrooms. They include increase in the turbulence level among other. There is need for increase in the area of institution knowledge sharing. This means that there is need for involving the students in the process of knowledge sharing through involving them in meeting sharing the objectives of the institution. Knowledge sharing at each level of the classroom is the best tool to enable the institution work better. Apart from the institutions focusing on competition with their rivals, it is also very important for it to think beyond the existence problems and try to improve the institution’s ways of operations by ensuring that the students are getting the knowledge they need especially on what is happening in the education sector at that particular point. This is where the issue of knowledge management comes in. What it means as a teacher to be a reflective consumer of research Each classroom environment demands different strategies to achieve a well managed classroom. This means that not every research that has been done on the issue of classroom management will be applicable. There are different types of children in the classroom and with different needs. An example is the fact that a school of the disabled students will demand a different strategy for classroom management as compared to a school made up of normal students. This applies with reference to the level of students. This is because the strategies used in a classroom of preschool children can not be the same as the strategies used for the primary schools, high schools and tertiary colleges. It is also important to consider other factor like the cultural background of the students before applying he researches that have been suggested in the researches. Another very important factor is the changes occurring in the world which are also influencing the changes in the teaching approaches in class. That is a factor that should be keenly taken into consideration before applying the suggested strategies in different research forums. Application of some strategies which are not appropriate in that situation can easily lead to situation whereby the teacher is not helping the students or making his or her teaching any easier.
