Legal and Ethical Issues for Health Professionals – Essay Example

The paper "Legal and Ethical Issues for Health Professionals" is an exceptional example of an essay on nursing. Allied health practitioners in most public health institutions tend to experience various issues and challenges, which compromise their job satisfaction and performances. The 21st century has seen health practitioners experience various issues and challenges in their line of duty. Some of the widespread issues and challenges facing public health and practitioners in the health sector include; lack of advancement in terms of opportunities, overworking, poor salary and poor organizational culture (Pozgar, 2010).
Most surveys conducted indicate that most healthcare practitioners fail to advance in terms of opportunities. A staggering 50 percent of health care practitioners claim that they fail to see enough advancement in terms of opportunities in their related health sector (Pozgar, 2010). Health care practitioners also tend to experience challenges and issues relating to work overload. In most cases, public health practitioners tend to be overloaded with the growing demand for healthcare in the 21st century (Pozgar, 2010). Lastly, most health care practitioners tend to experience problems with a poor salary. From doctors to general health care professionals, most health care employees tend to experience low payments as compared to the workload they engage in on a daily basis. Another major problem that healthcare practitioners experience is the issue to do with a lack of enough training in the healthcare sector (Pozgar, 2010).
Meeting these challenges remains the sole responsibility of both the practitioners and the healthcare employers. The role of health care providers and employers in meeting this challenge is by providing unique responsibilities, social bonuses and leadership positions to some of the good performers in the healthcare institutions. Alternatively, the health practitioners need to co-operate with the healthcare institutions in meeting most of the above challenges.
