The paper "Dealing with Conflict in Work Place" is an exceptional example of an essay on human resources. Conflicts at work tend to take various forms (Griffith & Goodwin, 2012). For instance, it may be workers against each other, or individuals having problems with their managers. In this case study, Manuel is experiencing both of the conflicts. Based on appropriate procedures and effective communication, Manuel’ s issues can be tackled and solved. This paper discusses the points to be considered while resolving these conflicts as a way to help Manuel quit complaining. After listening to the issues raised by Manuel, the first step I will take as a manager is to perform an informal investigation on Manuel and his coworkers.
Taking time to talk to colleagues helps one gather relevant information and confirming allegations of those involved. I will encourage Manuel to confront his feelings towards this specific coworker, whom he feels is underperforming. This enables him to deal with conflict head-on, and perhaps he will realize his mistakes too. Besides, I will clearly state the issue of fair payment. For instance, committed worker deserve better pay than irresponsible workers, and in this case, Manuel seems dissatisfied with his job.
The frequent visitation to the manager’ s office is often a waste of time; in addition, I will kindly explain to Manuel the specific standards the company is yet to meet. This means the suggestion for increased salary is an issue to be considered later. Moreover, when confronting Manuel’ s threat to leave the company, I will advise him to deal with one issue at a time. He is certainly burdened with a lot of negative emotions at work, and no company would wish to employ a person with unresolved conflicts.
