Non-profit organizations are those organizations that do not operate in an effort to make a profit. The funds in the organization are used to pay salaries and to help meet the missions the organization is set to achieve. Most non-profit organizations are inclined to charitable activities which are sometimes their sole purpose. These are such activities as; care for homeless people; care for disaster-struck people; old people; people with developmental or any other forms of disabilities and; provision of support to those in need such as youths and army veterans.

In the selection of a non-profit organization to fund or spend one's time on, it is essential to understand fully its operations, its mission, and its success in its attainment, and even more importantly how it treats funds it receives. Many non-profit organizations in their efforts to raise funds bombard the public and anyone who can help with their aspirations and rarely get honest about their success or how they spend the funds they receive. In the case where one wants to fund an organization, it is advisable to research as much on the organization and have exhaustive knowledge of the organization.

In an effort to complete set projects, the organization after every completion of a project takes photos and provides information of the societies served as well as providing GPS coordinates (2018). Water is a necessary resource everywhere around the globe. Its uses and importance cannot be matched by any other commodity. It occurs most naturally but a lot of people lose their lives because of its absence. In most developing countries, governments either lack funds or are too corrupt to facilitate the provision of clean water to their citizens.

This leaves a vast number of people with no access to clean water a situation that either directly or remotely leads to loss of lives. Even water being the most basic need for both people and animals, very few organizations find the need to help in the distribution of the same. Charity: water is solely dedicated to the provision of this crucial commodity would earn my consideration to spend both money and time on.
