Today's Christian Worldview – Essay Example

The paper "Today's Christian Worldview" is an outstanding example of an essay on religion and theology. The Christian worldview is the set of beliefs about life and the functioning of the world, held by people belonging to the Christian Faith. There are some basic strong beliefs about the human being and his existence that the Christians follow, on the basis of the Bible. They are as follows: 1. The human being is created by God. The reason for human being’s existence is to govern the world and live a pure life by following the path and the rules given by God (“What is Christian Worldview?”).
2. However, human being went against the moral rules and values set by God. He got attracted to the lower things of life like sex, money, and lust and hence chose the wrong path. As man chose to lead an impure life, he is suffering from the curse (Beckwith, Craig and Moreland 15).
3. Human beings need freedom from this curse and the suffering. However, as they do not have enough power to free themselves from the bondage, God sent his son to the earth, who took human birth in the form of Jesus and paid the price necessary for the salvation of human beings. The price was His death on the cross (Beckwith, Craig and Moreland 15). Christians believe that one day this sacrifice will free them from the bondage of the curse(“What is Christian Worldview?”). According to the Bible, the human being was living in a perfect world before he committed the sins. Christians believe that the sacrifice of life by Jesus will bring the world to the perfect state as it was before.
These are the views held by people belonging to the Christian Faith and they interpret the world through these beliefs.
