Controls and policy relating to climate change Student’s Name Code & Course Professor’s Name University City Date Introduction Planning system is diverse and thus it involves various interrelating activities which work together to realize the objectives of the plan. Planning involves evaluating and monitoring a given activity to ensure it is in line with the expected goals to be achieved. This paper basically looks at control and policy which relates to climate change and how this can be achieved through planning. To plan and control the climate change, there is need to measure the health effects related to climate change, this gives the formation on how to control and prevent this climate change as long term planning activity. To be able to achieve the objectives of this planning event, there is need to plan well and be able to monitor the event more closely to identify and problem that may lead to failure (Friedman & Scholnick 2014). It is the work of the management therefore to evaluate the event by looking at the goals and objectives to be achieved and forward their plan to the relevant stakeholders and interested people. In doing this, the managers will have created enough time for themselves to plan effectively and be supports by those interested in seeing the project succeed. Purpose and objects of the planning element Climate has been seen to vary both naturally and by human influence over a long period of time. Thus in the process of planning for control and mitigation, there must be consideration in collecting evidence related to climate change and how it has affected the human health. This element of planning therefore has its aim in identifying the reasons behind the effects of climate change and how important it is to control it. In the paper we therefore study various processes that the planning process for this event will undergo including setting up, evaluation and monitoring of the whole process to arrive at the final best objective of the event (Wallace, Pollack & Young 2015). Planning for this event also involves asking questions like who is behind the planning process. That is in terms of funding is it the government or private sponsors working to ensure the climate related issues is solved. In most cases, climate change is considered to be a government related issue. This phenomenon though has in the recent past changed as many people and organizations have partnered with the government to address the issues relating to climate change due to a rise in health issues relating to climate change. For the private sponsors, they take part in this event with their minds fixed in improving their image to the public, the event act as a form of advertisement to them as they prepare to sale their name to the public. The private sponsors gain from the event through naming rights where the agreement is made between the sponsor and the event organisers for a period stated in the agreement. The purpose of this event therefore largely looks at the need to address the climate change and the sponsors involved are both government and private business people. Why control and policy relating to climate change? Global climate change has affected many people across the world and the trend is predicted to worsen if not addressed. The evidence of climate change impacts can be seen in the rise of earthquakes, hurricanes, and extreme temperatures across the world. People’s life have been put in danger to the rise in the climate related impacts. The more we understand about the effects of the climate change, the better we understand why there is need to take action in mitigation and controlling of the climate change. Through this knowledge also people are in a position to become better by understanding the cause and effects related to climate change as we are able to adjust and become prepared for the coming possible change. There has been intergovernmental consultation on climate control and various policies have been enacted, but the human induced climate change is reportedly on the rise. Climate change has become a challenge to the world and even consultation between the government and the private sectors has not well worked well (Jones 2014). Climate change threatens people in many places due to increased distraction of the natural ecosystem with an increase in severe weather events which is threatening the lives of people especially the poor. To failure in addressing this challenge can be said to have been caused by slow implementation of the government’s policies across the world. This has been blamed to lack of proper consultation and involvement of other stakeholders including the private sector to participate in this process. In mitigating this problem, there is need for all stakeholders to participate in strongly reducing the green house emissions that human beings are realising to the atmosphere. The policies should be well communicated to highlight the benefits derived from successful implementation. Knowledge of critical threshold involving control and mitigation will help the governments be in position to implement policies relating to mitigation and control of greenhouse emission. Monitoring of the element In planning, the objectives intended are achieved by continuous check on the running of the project over a given period of time. Monitoring in the climate change involves performance and analysis of the routine measurement, this is aimed at checking for any possible change in the in the environment caused by climate change (Steffen et al., 2015). Monitoring thus involves continuous review of the process being undertaken to check for any possible change in the climate that may affect negatively the health of the entire population. Through monitoring, implementation process is widely looked at as it involves tracking the performance of the policies enacted and how they have changed the view on the climate change. Continuous observation leads to changing the way the event is done, when it comes to climate change, observation helps in understanding the trends in the climate and how to effectively adjust the policies related to proper climate control. Monitoring of the climate change should be done over time to produce the best alternative results. The policies have not in the past been well implemented due to poor follow up of the process. Outcomes of the policies One of the major policy towards reducing the global warming is by reducing green house emissions by governments up to 2% by the year 2050 (Wallace, Pollack & Young 2015). This policy is deemed to be the basis towards addressing of the world’s global warming problem. Climate change has been and still is a major challenge to many governments due to the perennial release of harmful gasses to the environment which have led to increased global warming. The reduction of the release of these gasses has become difficult to control due to increased levels of development especially to developed countries. Many countries have decided to introduce policies that curb industries from releasing these harmful gasses to the environment. Proper measures have to be taken into place to put these policies in practice. Terms of industries, the industries should be curbed in a way that they are able to manage their operation to reduce release of harmful gasses. This is a major challenge to many countries as many do not know how to curb the release of these gasses without affecting development. Most governments do not put climate change a priority rather they consider development as the first agenda without addressing the issue of reducing release of green house gasses. If it could have been possible for technologies to be put in place to reduce on release of green house gasses then the policies could be well addressed. The issue of technology though is far to be involved considering the many attempts by the intergovernmental panel on climate change which has tried to incorporate this issue in curbing up this problem (Kriegler et al., 2014). The ability to curb the release of harmful gasses into the environment does not entirely lie with the government but also the private sector needs to largely take part in solving the problem. For the bigger part of the environment, the best way to dealing with this problem is through adaptation to the climate change. Adaptation in this nature involves anticipating for the effects related to climate change and considering proper actions to be taken to minimise the damage that can be caused by the changes. The factor in this situation is to improve and implement the preventive measures with an aim of reducing the impacts. In dealing with adaptation process, the governments and both international and national bodies should adopt the strategies to deal with climatic change problem. As the control and policies are might be addressed through adaptation, the process is deemed to affect many sectors of the economy at the same time involving various decision making. Various sectors such as agricultural sector, health services, ecosystem and environmental sectors should be well integrated in terms of management (Axelrod & VanDeveer 2014). Proper adaptation measures should be well involved and should not be taken in a hurry, it should be considerate and above all less costly to be well integrated in the process of adaptation. Adaptation largely involves using the alternative products that are not prone to emission of harmful gasses; this should be seriously considered as it is one of the best alternatives to dealing with climate change. Though the policies are expected to improve the ability of controlling the climate change, there are also expected difficulties in terms of project management and proper development (Hannigan 2014). The most difficult scenario will happen in terms of change in development as the implementation of the policies interferes with the development agenda of many governments in the world. Feedback on control and policies on climate change Climate change and control policies influence positively the natural coexistent in the human living across the world. This is a positive response towards proper management of reduction in health related problems. It has one of the major achievements and will still improve the human life if the policies outlined especially in the intergovernmental panel on climate change will be well implemented (Tietenberg & Lewis 2016). As the reduction on use of natural resources in industries is implemented, there is a wide range of reduction in development especially to the developing nations which rely on natural resources as inputs in production. According to the system, many people have incorporated the idea and they look forward to addressing the problem to reducing the problem of high emission of harmful gasses in the atmosphere. Conclusion In conclusion, the paper has widely looked at control and policies on climate change as an element of planning. In the planning process, stakeholders involved need to be identified and their roles well documented. For this paper climate change is an issue that has affected many people across the world in terms of negative health issues. It is rampant due to high rate of development which leads to emission of harmful gasses to the environment. Proper planning for this event thus involves monitoring and evaluating the progress related to policies controlling climate change in the long term process.
