Carl Sagan's We Are Star Stuff - Assignment Example

The conversion of hydrogen into helium is the source of energy production in stars. In other words, science has proved that hydrogen and helium are the major components of stars. “The amino acid glycine, a fundamental building block of proteins, has been found in a comet for the first time, bolstering the theory that raw ingredients of life arrived on Earth from outer space” (Mataconis). Moreover, science has already proved that hydrogen and helium are major constituents in our bodies.

When we analyze the above two facts we can conclude that Carl Segan’s arguments are logical. If the elements available on earth are available on other planets or stars, then there should definitely be a connection between earth and other objects in the universe.In short, all the objects in our universe seem to be originated from one object which forced Segan to make his famous remark that we are star stuff.
