Eventually, the advancement and development of technology and science has created placed for people to live which is known as cities. The major center of live hood of people is cities. There comes a time every adult lives is to make conscious choice and choose between living in the city and living in the suburbs. Both city and suburbs has their own pros and cons which depend upon the personality of each individual. People have different mentality and perception to project their viewpoint regarding selecting their place of living (Palen, 2004). It depends upon their thinking and observation of lifestyle they will lead. Life in city and suburbs are dissimilar and project the different lifestyle of people to lead their lives. This resembles to the fact that, the escalation of population is cities has created more difficult to leave any open space. Some of the open or public spaces are available in the cities, but this are needed to be shared with others. If some people value to have private green space and yard, then city life is not the place for those people. But this is quite different in case of suburbs (Rybczynski, 2006). The availability of huge number of open space in the suburbs makes people more secure of their privacy. Housing stock is one of the obvious points to deliver difference between the life in the suburbs and city. Housing stock is defined as the place or houses to live that are mostly obtainable in an area, country, town, etc. Moreover, it determines the total number of flats, houses in a particular area. Due to the advancement and emergence of globalization, has made vital for organization and government to maintain development in the city for the betterment of people and enhance their lifestyle (Gans, 2013). Townhome, single family housing developments are much more developed and stylish. Life is suburbs are more spacious but limit in the types of housing developments. For example, in one of the North side neighborhoods in Chicago, people can get two-bedroom, modern, one-bathroom condo and advanced house for 250,000 dollars. But is people are willing to travel more 22 miles from the city of Chicago to suburbs, then they can find newly renovated rooms with a yard, three-bathroom and three-bedroom home (Anderson, 2007). The rooms which are available in suburbsare more spacious and same price. The choice of individual may sometime depend upon space or type of housing development. The decision of people depends upon their priority towards convenience or space. Lifestyle is another comparison between living in cities and suburbs.
