Some areas of current Kuwait have never served as a home to humans. On the other hand, other parts, Faylakha Island, for example, have provided shelter for travelers, traders, and homes of ancient military bases. Directly offshore in Kuwait Bay, Faylakha Island is an obvious stopping point for those sailing the upper reaches of the Arabian Gulf. Numerous archaeological artifacts can be found on Faylakha Island that can be dated as far back as the third millennium b.c.e., though proof of human habitation begins to fade away again sometime around 1000 b.c.e. (Casey et al. 2007).

The other port of Kadhima was located in the western part of Kuwait. Kadhima acted as a station for different caravans that came from the land of two rivers and Persia. Kadhima remained as the trading link among different countries such as Europe, sham countries, and the Pacific Ocean. Hence it was considered a trading center and it is the most main trade road in the world. Many groups and families from Najd came to this area in the early 17th century. Their insight made them realize the spatial privileges and the importance of this location. These groups renovated Kadhima that was bad off (Casey, 2007).
