Multinational Business Aspects of News CorporationMultinational business ignores geographic boundaries when serving the market through its supply chains. However, according to Ghemawat, (2011, p. 92), multinational businesses are faced with problems related to unbalanced growth, financial distress, threats of protectionism that is caused by the persistent unemployment experienced in developing countries. Other multinational companies are faced with issues related to tension in poor and wealthy nations, ethnicity, religious and linguistic divides and tribalism.

In fact, the objective of the essay is to discuss the aspect of multinational business for a company such as News, and its strategy. News Corporation had some components of statelessness, whereby it was the main players from Australia to UK and USA. Its founder Rupert Murdoch, who was a USA citizen, established it in Australia; thus, they could purchase sets of American TV stations. In fact, the company had a strategy of leveraging English language programming library across Asia, since numerous Asians, who were target demographic spoke English.

Eventually, the company’s focus on language and culture faded and this led to political misstep and after acquiring the Star, there a pronouncement of satellite TV’s threat related to totalitarian regimes. Conclusively, the essay has explored issues related to multinational business in terms of the aspect of its operation problems faced and their strategy. In addition, the paper has used an example of a company, News Corporation that was founded by Rupert Murdoch in Australia, and the way it transcended its boundaries to serve other continents like Asia and USA.
