Some people say they have less moral status than the children of the past generation. They use internet frauds that kids engage in to arrive at this conclusion. Sternheimer presents a necessary alternative to the persistent assumption that youths are both immoral and dangerous. The author then recommends that instead focus should be directed towards the resolution of key challenges that young people experience like poverty, domestic violence, and lack of school fees. Complaints about the current young generation do not help heal the situation.

Moreover, such complaints have always been there for a very long time. Times change, but the complaints never change across all the generations.The writer notes that youths have been pointed at as a stubborn and immoral population in order to cover up the responsibility and liability of the adult population for creating the risky challenges and difficulties that many youths undergo nowadays. The immorality is not only in youths. A study at the University of California showed that kids were more religiously conservative than elderly people.

If people think that the youths have poor values, then the blame has to go to the elderly people because kids ape what they observe their elderly role models do.
