Prof. Fall seems to have neglected to cover some aspects of Osteoporosis, the fact that there are certain people predisposed to the illness regardless of childhood health and prenatal care. Taking a drug holiday is best in order to ensure that a patient will be able to avoid becoming immune to a particular drug since drugs manage to stay in our system long enough to have a long-term effect. I cannot help but agree with Dr. Camacho when it comes to advising Osteoporosis patients to take a drug holiday every so often.

However, I am not so convinced that taking a 3-year break would be best because they have bones that are brittle and prone to breakage. Don't you think that it would be best to advise the patient to instead do a gradual withdrawal over the years in order to ensure that the patient will still have protection against accidental bone injury?
