ConclusionSummaryIntroductionAbrahao Andre de Araujo conducted a research named “Adjustment Issues of International Students Enrolled in American Colleges and Universities”, in this research he conducted a search and review of various literatures in accordance to the issues experienced by foreign students when they are admitted to educational institutes located in America (Araujo, 2011, p. 2).

Through his research he figured out that the main issues experienced included: inability to fluently speak and write in English, lack of support that is social in nature, the time period they spend in the US, their perception of biasness towards them.

Other issues includes: failure to create and maintain relationships with natives of America and the issue of home based sickness. Body Stress and adjustment issues are even related to ability to speak and write English language and support that is social in nature. Inability to properly speak and write in English language was a key factor that resulted in the stressful situation for international students.

Similarly, they figured out that those international pupils who were fluent in speaking English experienced lower levels of stress related to expressing themselves. The researchers further figured out that those international students experienced higher level of stress that had lower level of support that is social in nature and lower level of stress was experienced by those who had higher level of support. Stress and adjustment issues are even related to length of period spend in US and perception of being discriminated.

Students who have stayed in US for a longer period of time experienced fewer issues in adjustment or stress related to adjustment. They figured out that those who have spend more than six years in the nation had little difficulty in adjusting with the environment than those who have spend zero to five years in the nation. The researchers even figured out that higher amount of adjustment issues were experienced by those who perceived that they will be subjected to prejudice and discrimination. For example: students from Asian and African nations.

Relationship creation and home based sickness have been associated with international student’s stress and adjustment issues. Researchers asserted that those international students who were able to make relationships from their own cultural background and with other Americans found it easier to adjust in American environment. Similarly international students have reported higher levels of home based sickness than domestic students and the degree of bias attitude towards international students determined the degree of their home based sickness. Conclusion Abrahao Andre de Araujo conducted a literature research to figure out the issues that lead to failure of adjustment and increased stress among international students.

The researchers identified that level of home based sickness, ability to write and speak English language, level of support that is social in nature, opinion regarding discrimination, time period lived in US and relationships with individuals from the same culture and Americans were a high predictor of adjustment issues and stress related issues among international pupils.
