Portfolio 1 Student’s Name Institution Blog 1 Purpose of the Blog Through blogging, it is my dream to come up with new ideas that will help people make a living out of whichever little amount they earn in a given period. Proper planning and budgeting with the small income that they earn will be essential in life. In this blog, ideas and comments from readers and writers will be used to gather more information on financial issues. In addition, the blog will be used to keep track of the changes in prices of basic commodities; through which the interests of everyone can be tracked. Creating useful posts The best source for the captivating posts will be everyday experience and comments from people. Keeping track of current events will enable generation of the most important facts that people need to be updated on. In addition, easy language will be used to make the issue posted more captivating to the audience. Readers’ comments may also form an important source of useful information. Being that the social backgrounds of the readers vary, different opinions from them will be necessary in creating realistic and accurate posts on the blog. There are news broadcasts that also reveal important messages that are often take for granted. All these will be taken into account and synthesized to generate more information. For the updates and new ideas, the natural environment will form the richest source of information. Economic issues are the most sensitive and sought for information. People would like to earn money, and at the same time they are often unwilling tom spend it. By providing sensitive information on the most recent economic trends and budget constraints, the information shared will be very useful to the readers. Creating readership Social media attracts as many people as possible. By creating links to other social media such as Facebook and Tweeter, a simple ‘like’ will have made an individual access the post. Those people ‘following’ the first person will have received notifications on the ‘like’ activity that the first person had done. It is also through creativity and development of accurate posts that more readers will be attracted to the blog. People like interesting issues and those that affect their lives positively. As a result, interesting topics will be give first priority. They will all be on the positive side of the issue of concern. For instance, in the event of an issue such as inflation and price increase, a positive topic would be used to attract as many readers as possible. Pictorial illustrations with minimal narrations will also be put into consideration. Most people do not like reading long posts of essays, irrespective of the topic. Short statements that are interesting and written in simple language will attract as many readers as possible. An example of a blog in line with the state of economy is on how to budget with the income that one earns in a month. This is very sensitive. With the six critical steps that one needs to follow (Perez, 2014) in budgeting shown below, one would not fail to read to the very last section. Determine your essential expenses. This should not be done taking into account what other people may consider to be essential. Keep track of the cash inflows and outflows Keep an emergency fund. There are likely to be issues such as health challenges arising in the middle of the month. Not all your income should be budgeted for. You have to set percentage that will take care of any emergency issues that will arise in the course of the next month. Dine in. One thing that we cannot debate on is that you must eat at some point in time. All you have to do is think a little smarter on how you spend on food. Eating out costs more than making your own meals. You have to make a decision between the two. Evaluate your housing costs. In the event that you live in a rental house, there is need to evaluate all the bills and other monthly expenses associated with the residence. Avoid frustrations from your landlords. Be reasonable. You only need to cut your coat according to your size. Do not be carried away by your friends’ purchases. Blog 2 Enterprise 2.0 The introduction and implementation of enterprise 2.0 has brought in many benefits and changes to the organizations that have put it into application. Some of the common features available at enterprise 2.0 such as mass administration, page actions; available permissions within Enterprise 2.0, time-based sharing and many others have led to business transformations and increased margins (Cho & Ilasco, (2012). It is made up of business units that manage the visibility of data within an account. These units are hierarchical in nature and do not have to mirror an organization. They are capable of capturing a workflow, such as approvals. In addition to business units, Enterprise 2.0 facilitates access and sharing. The shared items folder is similar to the global folders in the case of Enterprise 1.0. Sharing is with the permission of the user or owner of an account, and, may be without limits. There are also chances of sharing data extensions across Enterprise 2.0 instance and its children. The creator of these extension domains has control over them and they must reside in the ‘shared data extensions folder. An example of a company that has put in place the concepts of Enterprise 2.0 is the International Business Machine (IBM) that takes part in the manufacturing of computers and accessories. IBM spent $ 700, 000 in tagging content across the Enterprise as an alternative to the traditional search. This gave it a net saving of $ 4.5 million per year. The Wikinomics business models Wikinomics operates on basic principles such as openness, peering, sharing and acting globally. In other words, it eliminates barriers to information sharing. Through peering, it makes it possible for all the users and people involved to share information with no restrictions. Blog 3 Enterprise 2.0 at the International Business Machine (IBM) The IBM Company implemented Enterprise 2.0 concepts among the very first organizations. Being a multinational company that operates in over 70 countries and with over 420, 000 employees, the company had to put in more efforts in moving to global transformations (Morgan, 2012). Through online tagging, more customers have been reached and this has led to an increase in product development. IBM personal computers have been on the increase from the time of implementation of the Enterprise 2.0 concepts. Online marketing and order placement has also been enhanced through the use of this blogging technology. Customers are now in a position to view what the company has in store and place orders instantly. Real-time order processing has made the company save on costs and realize additional profits annually. It is through this platform that customers’ preferences are collected. Enterprise 2.0 has increase business support on the part of the customers. Through sharing of experience, the company is now able to develop customize the product to meet the specific needs of the users. Upon the completion of real-time order processing, the customers are assured of distribution, transportation and delivery of the machines for which they place orders. IBM’s customers are mostly large companies that require machines to process large chunks of data at within the least possible time. As opposed to the traditional technique where employees would be engaged in searching for customers, Enterprise 2.0 tagging provision has led to large cost-savings each year. Blog 4: Lessons Learnt: Reflection The importance of blogging to the business society cannot be overlooked. There are numerous organizations and individuals that now have access to information that could hardly be available in the past. Blogs provide information from which decisions can be derived. Professionally, if I were to take part in blogging, there would be a lot of creativity and activeness in seeking for ideas that are essential to human life. Topics associated with social life, economics, politics and even religion can now be retrieved and shared on these social platforms. Organizations that have applied the Enterprise 2.0 concept realize low costs and more revenue from the wider market share, taking into account the example of IBM. In addition to the business benefits learnt, blogging also appears as a platform for entertainment. By commenting on posts and sharing one’s thoughts and perceptions about an issue, bloggers are kept entertained. In addition to gaining information, they also have an opportunity to take a break from involving tasks (Rettberg, 2013). The art of creativity and innovativeness is also cultivated in the mind of bloggers. More lessons can be learnt from the blogging activities in any given period. Users of this technology have often given positive images about the entire process. As an upcoming blogger, I look forward to making the simple ideas I have shared with my friends be accessible globally over the internet. In the long-run, distance will no longer be a barrier to sharing and acquisition of information. Readers and writers will always work towards making it cheap and easy to acquire any information.
