SUBJECT: APPLICATION FOR A CONSULTANT POSITION OPENING SEGMENT
I am applying for a consultant position in MarineMax Company. The company is the largest and leading boat retailer. Apart from selling boats, customers are able to access other services such as insurance, access to getaway trips, educational programs and financing. The boats sold by the company are of different sizes and use. The boats are spread across customer activities of fishing, leisure, luxury, water sport and vacation (Meybodi, 2013).
The company has in the past united with other boat retailers in the United States to maximize efficiency of the company operation while at the same time share vital practices that comprise of mobile boat servicing, insurance and other related customer services (Meybodi, 2013). The company can be able to benchmark with other successful companies with an intention of improving performance. Due to the various benefits that are associated with benchmarking, the company should be able to learn from other competitive and international companies with an intention of identifying new approach to business and finding out how other companies are able to thrive despite persistent competition.
The company can be able to benchmark with Standard Register Company and Searly Corporation. The companies have registered tremendous performance in the recent past. Searly corporation is a mattress company with headquarters in North Carolina. The company manufactures and sells mattresses (Mard, 2009). The company has continued to register excellent performance and is currently opening up new markets in other countries. Standard Register Company on the other hand is a public company headquartered in Ohio and is associated with communication management. Some of the company’s products includes decorating, product labeling and marking, patient information solutions and on demand publishing. Both companies have been recording huge profits and therefore MarineMax Company will be able to acquire information on new approach to business and customer services when they benchmark. The information achieved will be essential in future company strategies that will boost performance.
