Professor’s Name] [Writer’s Name] [Course Title] [Date] Global Politics Part A 1. Globalization in case the world politics or political globalization is a phenomena in which there is a world government and they all work in harmony so as to normalize the issues that might be existing between different countries. This is the way by which the political balance can be maintained on an international level. Political globalization also covers the rights that may be related to the social as well as an economic globalization. Political globalization helps the powerful nations in consolidating the strengths that they have on the military and the financial bases. Global politics deals with the policies that are defined by the international organizations as UN, IMF including the World Bank. Because of the constant dealings of the NGOs with the other countries the political activities may take place across the borders requiring interactions from more than a country (Kegley 22). 2. Neoliberalism is the concept on which the world is built today. All of the neoliberals are the ones who have a common and a very accurate concept that the power as well as the wealth is concentrated in the corporations that are based transnationally and as a result of the political ideology these are the people known to be the neoliberals (Harvey 25). Self regulating market is the core of the classical liberalism theories as it is considered to be one of the main assumptions in the classical liberalism as compared to it being a presumption in the neoliberalism. On the basis of the economic systems that are take into account by classical liberalism and neo liberalism, the theories in neoliberalism are the ones that are derived from classical liberalism. Roots of neoliberalism are seen to be originating from the classical liberalism (Harvey 58). 3. National interest refers to the goals of the country towards the attainment of wealth, prosperity as well as more power. These are the goals that can be based on military actions as well as related to the culture. National interest within the countries can be seen to be multi faceted and they can be having different directions. National interest is the one that is mostly related with survival as well as the integrity of states. If it is said that the state follows the national interest that it has than it may be analyzed that what actions a country has to take in order of the pursuance of these national interests. Here the national interests are also linked to the political actions. The national interest plays the role in which the political and the foreign policies are formulated (Tétreault 20). 4. There are some main concepts in case of the causes of war and these are inclusive of the actions that are taken by the communist states. It has been stated that the communist states are the ones who will try to expand their powers against all the capitalist states. Ease maintained in case of the communism states causes war as the communist states are recreated while they try to expand. The risks of war increases as the offensive forces against the other countries increase. Moreover when the conquests become easier than the aggressive states are the ones that attempt to make the attacks for their gains. More and more defensible borders are to be reached as the powers of the aggressive states increase. In addition to this the greatest cause that has been attributed with the war has been the policies that are designed by the country’s authorities (Wouk 52). 5. Terrorism has changed its face since the rise of the global politics. The terrorists do not have any nationalities and they do not have any states and thereby the global politics has made it easier for them to cross national borders to breach the securities of other countries. In this respect it has been said that there are three main ways in which the armed conflict can occur, these include wars between the states, civil wars between the states as well as terrorism. Terrorism that has been sponsored by the state is when terrorists are formally trained as well as assisted in the case of the weaponry as this is one by some of the states so as to achieve the foreign policy goals (Kegley 377-379). 6. It is said that the nation states are the ones being the principle actors in the global politics. In addition to these the nation states, the organizations, the political leaders are the ones who play the roles. These are the non state actors and these are inclusive of the international organizations as well. The international organizations have been increasing in number and that relates to an increase in the economy, as well as the social, cultural and the political interactions between the states and the individuals. An increase in the number of these non state actors is the challenge that almost weakens the concept that is related to the international politics and it is replaced with the transnational system. These are the non state actors that are gaining influence. International government organizations as well as NGOs are the ones that are created by the nation states and the second group of the non state actors is created by the businessmen, and the factors within the society (Tétreault 100). 7. Global south is inclusive of the countries that have the stronger economies and that are super powers. Global south is critical to the world politics as these are the role players in the global politics in these times. these are the states that are facing the issues as the security issues and the population problems as well as the threats that are related to the global health as well as the education policies and these are the main problems that make the earnings of these countries have greater differences with the countries in the global north. The countries in the global north are the ones that have been defined as having the stronger economies and strong and they have the stronger incomes as the education, security and the health systems are better developed. The income in the global south countries is spent on the education and the developmental sectors (Tétreault 108). 8. Governments have been recognized as the greatest threat to the human rights since the start and this has been the thought that has been passed on. Thereby a newer form of the government was created that made sure that the human rights are to be secured and the common good can be achieved in case of the nation. Although the ideology has been great but the main thing that has to be seen is that these are the governments that have tried to increase there powers by making use of the citizens and there resources. This has been the same case in the security as the privacy violations has been seen to offend all the people and threatens their rights and in this case if the nation cannot be secures than this is the situation that can lead to the disaster (Kegley 200). 9. The commons have always been holding the concepts for holding the lands, rivers as well as the forests and they are the ones who make sure that this is the issue that ids dealt on an international level with the political intervention. In the 21st century as can be seen there are newer forms of the private properties that are emerging as a concept and these are inclusive of the gene pools for the plants, the water rights as well as the biodiversity. People are being demanded to add more from the multinational corporations to gain access to the land for the greater investments to be made. These are the ideologies that seem to be flourishing and these are the goals that have been set by the commons in the case of the ecological politics. And this has been the main theory that has been gaining an importance as the main metaphor from the commons in the case of the ecological politics (Machan 25). 10. There is main reason as to why the power cannot be measured in the case of international politics. One main psychological aspect has been related to this as the power in the international politics has been defined as the capacity and the intent. Capacity is a measure of the nations’ economy and the activities. The intent is the one by which the nation intends to use these capacities in different ways thereby the capacity can be measured but the intent is the one main factor that cannot be measured. USA had the capacity to win the war against the Vietnam but they were never fully committed in winning the war and thereby the war had not been won. On the other hand as has been noticed the Vietnamese are the ones who were les on capacity but they had much more intent to win the war (Kegley 58). Part B The modern world has been known for the three main hegemonies and these are inclusive of Dutch who are considered to be the powerful country in the seventeenth century, as the journey is taken into the nineteenth century the British are the ones who are considered to be the powerful in the nineteenth century and these are the days, the twentieth century when the Americans are the powerful. There are many sociologist and the political economists, the critics who have properly studied the rise and fall of the hegemonies and these are the three of them. There are many authors who have added that the evolution in the case of the organizational scenario that the larger and larger hegemonies have been evolving since the past years and it has been seen since the last six hundred years. In the case of the British it has been seen that they have been enjoying two main power cycles since some years, one of the power cycles has been used as well as implemented in the eighteenth century and the second one has been used in the nineteenth century. This has been the same logic that says that US has been the country that might succeed by using these two power cycles in the twentieth century. The analysis has been carried out on the organizational, cultural as well as the political requirements that have been related to the newer and the powerful countries emerging on the global scale (Tétreault 88). In addition to this it has been seen that the United States has been excelling in the field of the information technology and biotechnology and these have been the two main reasons as to which the country has been considered to be emerging as a powerful hegemony on the global scale. These are the two main developments that have made United States having a greater advantage over the other countries and it can help United States in gaining the eminence in the world politics in the years to come. The US based hegemony that has been noticed by the world is the one that is related to the need of building a peaceful democratic politics that needs to be applied on all countries. Peaceful as well as the liberal democracy is the one that is being anticipated by the US in the world at this time and it has been said that the main ideology behind the US hegemony has been this main fact. It is in the human nature to look upon someone who is even more successful or more powerful and the successful and the power is the one main aspect that is to be idealized by every human being and to attain it is the main goal. United States has been the only country that has been the super power after the Second World War. The main diplomatic issue that has been raised by the USA has been the gunboat diplomacy. In this case it has been seen that USA has been interfering in the military conflicts and the regional conflicts that have raised in the countries as the main security related issues, thereby the gunboat diplomacy has been the one that has been spreading in an international manner as a matter of the internal affairs. Us military expansion has been the one that has been the main issue that has been discussed by many critics in the past years. In addition to this there are many critics who say that the US military actions are not as simple as just starting and waging aggressive wars in different countries. US has a hypocritical manner by which the political expansion has been dealt in the pretexts and the main ideologies that have been associated with the safeguarding of the human rights as well as the prevention of the ethnic conflicts that might be taking place in the countries in which the military expansion has been allowed (Tétreault 100). In this case the main analytical concern that is being faced by the analyst is that in the future as well as may be in the present which country is going to be the one that challenged US in all its powers, which country is going to be the one that gains all that has been gained by the US as being the main world power. In case of the hegemonic cycles it has been said that these are the cycles that break into the main discontinuous components when the superpower is the one that begins to lose the legitimate hegemonic control over the other countries. If the international system is taken into account it can be seen that there is not one country that is considered to be the power having all its advantages over the others and this is the fact that ids referred to as the multi polarity. It has been said that the Britain, Netherlands, as well as the Portuguese have been the ones who have enjoyed the hegemonies in the world and these hive been the ones who have dominated the global political as well as the cultural systems and this has been seen especially in the case of the inception of the Westphalian nation-state system. All the hegemonic cycles that has been seen are the ones whose hegemonic cycles have been broken down because of many wars that have been recorded in the history. Wars that have been recorded are the ones that have taken place as a result of the global conflicts and it has been said that the nation or the country that emerges as the winner of all these global conflicts is the ones that will define the peace in the newer and the better manner. This is the hegemonic power that will and still is shaping up the peace process in many ways. It has been said that the global leadership is the one aspect that is dependent upon the military powers that the country has as has been seen in the case of the Britain as they were stronger in there naval powers. It has been added by the authors that the world order needs to be sustained by the hegemonic powers by the distribution of the military powers in the world (Kegley 411). Conclusion The politics in these days has changed in many ways and the main factor that has been seen in relation to the changes has been the globalization. The globalization has made the word come closer enough and all of the major issues that are being faced by the countries are now the main issues of all the countries and the countries and the governments are the ones who are trying to resolve all the issues on a common platform.
