I am applying for a consultant position in MarineMax Company. The company is the largest and leading boat retailer. Apart from selling boats, customers are able to access other services such as insurance, access to getaway trips, educational programs, and financing. The boats sold by the company are of different sizes and use. The boats are spread across customer activities of fishing, leisure, luxury, water sport, and vacation (Meybodi, 2013).  The company has in the past united with other boat retailers in the United States to maximize the efficiency of the company operation while at the same time share vital practices that comprise mobile boat servicing, insurance, and other related customer services (Meybodi, 2013).

The company can be able to benchmark with other successful companies with an intention of improving performance. Due to the various benefits that are associated with benchmarking, the company should be able to learn from other competitive and international companies with an intention of identifying a new approach to business and finding out how other companies are able to thrive despite persistent competition. Nearly corporation is a mattress company with headquarters in North Carolina. The company manufactures and sells mattresses (Mard, 2009).

Both companies have been recording huge profits and therefore MarineMax Company will be able to acquire information on a new approach to business and customer services when they benchmark. The information achieved will be essential in future company strategies that will boost performance.
