The Reason to Be a Nurse - Admission/Application Essay Example

I believe that every individual has a calling in their life. Great people as we know them today like Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King, etc all responded to this calling in their life and thus went on that road of life where their hearts laid. I feel that “nursing’ is my calling in life. I believe that every existence is for a cause and when I ask myself the reason for my existence, my heart answers “to care”.  This becomes however very evident if one traces my family history.

I have a grandfather who is a Radiologist, an Uncle who is an Orthopedic Surgeon, an aunt who is in Obgyn, another aunt who is a Nursing Director in a hospital, my sister is in her final year in a nursing school and my mother is attending nursing school now. So you can see that the medicine and caring for people are in our family veins. The trained nurses are one of the blessings of the society who stand at the equal footage with a doctor and a priest. So it’s my humble request to kindly provide me with an opportunity to comply with my soul's command by giving me a chance to study nursing.

I maintain a 4.3 GPA, attend college courses in general education while finishing my high school year in preparation for nursing school. Your school allows me the opportunity to fast track my nursing degree with the plans to obtain my Bachelors’ and Masters Degree after complete at Carrington College of Nursing. I shall be obliged if I’m given a chance to decide this journey from “career to care” under your able guidance.
