It is a Swedish company. Ericsson was founded in 1876. It has headquarters in Kista in Sweden. The company is present in more than 180 countries and has around 110,000 people. The firm first developed and sold its telephone equipments. After few years Ericsson did an agreement for supplying switchboards and telephones to first telecom operator of Sweden. This company helped to develop high telephone density in Stockholm as well as throughout the world. In today’s market Ericsson has become a leading company in providing different professional service, communicational equipments, multimedia solutions related to mobile operation and various fixed network worldwide. It has over 1000 of network. It is one of the few companies which provide end to end solution and support for various global standards of GSM track. This organization invests heavily on its recruitments and R&D for getting good professional and promoting open system and standardized services. The company selects its employees based on different criteria. After recruitment its train its employees to become more efficient performing their work. Ericsson has a vast product portfolio having around 24,000 patents. Form its very beginning the company is innovating new products and technologies for making its telecommunication business of high quality and more efficient. This organization maintains high standard corporate governance policies within its regulatory and legal framework. Its internal rules influence ethical behaviour of its employees. For a long time the management of Ericsson is controlling different procedures and practices for making them more reliable and effective. Organization Mission The mission of Ericsson is innovating new technologies for empowering people, society and business. It celebrates and respect diversity which helps to develop an environment for learning and innovating new ideas by the teams. It understands and support sustainable development. Its mission statement also includes that the company first gives priority to its customers by developing flexible and focused strategies and actions. The mission of Ericsson describes that its passion is to focus on improvement of the company and to win different challenges. Ericsson believes in innovation (Ericsson, 2015). The organization prefers to work with its partners and customers by embracing different opportunities for improving its business. It enable cost effective internet mobile to its customers. It’s another important mission is to become prime drivers for developing high level of communication. Ericsson is facilitating networked society where every benefiting thing will be connected. Ericsson transforms its business through mobility (Meurling and Jeans, 2000). Transformation is the process where people live their lives in an organized way for carrying out vital tasks. Ericsson consumes and creates through transformation. Main product and services Ericsson is delivering and manufacturing a wide range of product and services. It combines services and technology for embracing different changes. The company works with different telecom operators throughout the world. Ericsson provides service to those companies and helps them to create their values by finding new growth opportunities. It gives different solutions to the telecom companies to tackle challenges of present and future time. Mobile Broadband and communication services are the main solutions provided by Ericsson to these telecom companies (Urde, Greyser and Balmer, 2007). It mobile broadband is playing an important role in daily lives of the people. By its communication service the company is providing new technologies for enriching communication process. Some of key products of Ericsson are M commerce, device connecting platform, user data management, service number application, mobile switching, service enablement platform, signal routing, virtual private network, IMS, enriched messaging etc. The company also develops various managed service models which suits need of customers. The company’s leading innovation is related with its products like IP Network, network software 15A, Service Aware Charging Control (SACC). Some of its main services are optical transport facilities, Evolved packet core, IP Edge, Microwave Networks are very popular now days. Ericsson provides solutions to government companies and government system of the countries by its product and services (Morck, 2005). It has developed emergency response solutions which help to rescues workers, communicate them different information and control various practices to foe saving their lives and protecting their property. Critical infrastructure Protection of Ericsson is a robust and flexible solution for protecting different infrastructure which becomes very critical to the society. The company offers customized solutions for enhancing security system in boarder areas. It service related to public safety provide the facility of call outs with video and picture steam. This technology of the company helps to produce successful outcomes. Ericsson also provides various solutions to media and transport industry for their growth and developments. The organization plays a vital role in giving business and operational support to a huge number of companies around the world. It provides the service of managing billing and revenue, network and cloud, customer relationship, assurance, plan build optimization, CDMA operations, user data management and fulfilment (Firtman, 2013). It has developed a network which delivers high quality of data and voice service by different cost effective networks. Organization and sector Background The founder of Ericsson Company is Lars Magnus Ericsson. In his youth he began to manufacture different instruments. At the age of 30 he builds a shop in Stockholm where he repaired foreign made telephones. In 1878 he started manufacturing and selling telephone equipments. He developed its business by doing agreements with different suppliers. Slowly he became a major supplier of telephone equipments in that area (Karlström and Runeson, 2006). In the following years Ericsson brought a number of companies for ensuring the supply of essential equipments related to telephones. His network expanded rapidly and its company transformed into telephone manufacturing company. In the late 1890 the production of Ericsson grew its maximum and Swedish market became saturated. Therefore the company started to expands its market in foreign countries. The company first expanded it business operation in Russia and Britain and started increasing its sales there. In a short span of time different other companies got exposed top Ericsson’s products (Beise, 2001). Telecommunication and software industry throughout the world have experienced many major changes which helped this industry to develop a lot. Significant reforms and policies have helped in this development. With the advancement of technology mobile penetration have increased in a huge amount which influenced all the telecommunication companies to develop and implement different strategies and policies for generating more revenue. Needs of people changes have changed a lot with time. For satisfying those needs telecommunication and software industry have made various remarkable changes (Dinsmore and Cooke-Davies, 2005). Different software are continuously developed and introduced in the markets which have changed lifestyle of people. Internet is gaining its popularity day by day. It is acting as a major player in changing and improving this industry. For the advancement of this industry it has become an important part in daily lives of people (Iveroth, 2010). Benefit from placement I got placement in Ericsson and have got many benefits from my job in this company. I have developed many skills, good habits and behaviour for improving my work and practices. Ericsson is undertaking some projects in Asia. I am responsible for supporting, coordinating different process of business operations. I have to work in a team under the super vision of team leader. After joining this company I came to learn about different technology which enhanced my knowledge about the work process. I was made responsible to look after 1st level operational activities (Davies, 2004). I have to look after the service which Ericsson provides to its customers. By performing all these functions I have learned many things which improved my performance in different business operational process. I got a detailed knowledge about corrective and preventive maintenance of 1st level surveillance. Ericsson has provided high quality of training to all its employees including me which has made me strong and capable to perform different functions. For working on the project of Asian countries I was provided with detailed knowledge about those countries and its business environment. As a result I became aware of many unknown facts and figures which are very essential for doing my job. During my work process many highly qualified professionals of the company interacted with me. They have guided me in many works and critical situations (Capon, 2008). I got much assistance from them which are one of the important benefits I got by working in Ericsson. I have learned different managerial qualities from my team leaders and managers of this company. They have taught me how to increase my productivity efficiently in a short span of time. The work environment of this company is very friendly and organized. I feel that Ericsson provides many opportunities to its employees for developing themselves. By getting placed in Ericsson I came to know about corporate cultures of multinational companies. Communication I have to communicate with different person within the organization and also outside the organization. Interact with different clients is a major part in my job role in Ericsson. For the development of new projects in Asia Ericsson have to do various meetings and with its employees and client. Implementation of these projects is very important for the company. Here communication is playing an important role. By effective commutations with its employees and clients the company is able to develop its new projects successfully (Wintzer, 2007). As I am working in these projects so I also have to maintain strong communication with my team members and clients. Ineffective communication will create a lot of problem within the organization and in its work process. Ericsson is very much conscious about these factors. I was given proper knowledge about communication process that is followed in the company. This process taught me who to communicate with my seniors, managers and colleges and how to make communication effective (Boxall and Purcell, 2006). With the help of this company I got an idea about convincing by clients by using appropriate language and words. For controlling work process of remote sites I need to maintain a daily communication with the employees working there. For this job responsibility I have made a remarkable improvement in my communication skills. I can explain different support activities to the clients by demonstrating and explaining services in a convincing way. By doing proper communication I am able to maintain transparency in my works. With the help of the company, I am able to understand the importance of effective communication for performing different business operations in a productive and efficient way (Rao, 2004). Leadership Leadership is an important quality which influences a lot in the growth and development of an employee. With the help of strong leadership skills an ordinary employee can be in the position of top managers. Therefore leadership skills are very important factors for achieving many things in the company. Ericsson makes various methods to develop and enhance the leadership skills of its employees. I did not have much of inborn leadership skills. After I joined the company I saw many leaders within the organization who are continuously motivation the employees and contributing a lot in fulfilment of organizational goals and objectives. To inculcate those leadership qualities within me Ericsson provided different trainings to me. In that those training I performed various activities which help to enhance and develop different leadership skills within me (Wilton, 2010). I got an idea about different types of situations I am going to face for my job and hoe to handle those situations effectively by applying those leadership skills. I got strong benefited from those trainings. In the projects of Asia I have to look after the 1st level of incident management. With the help of my leadership skills I am able to manage different critical situations or incidents. The company has provided me knowledge about different measures which can be taken after analyzing situations. I have implemented my theoretical knowledge according to the practical situations which has helped to enhance my confidence and knowledge about my leadership skills. A group of employees work under my guidance. By getting proper knowledge from Ericsson I am able to guide those employees and motivating them in the works. This process helps me to get productive results and output from those employees. Teamwork Employees of big multinational companies’ work in a team. Works are distributed among the employees according to their qualities and capabilities. Employees working in a same project normally works in a same team. Ericsson also follows the process of teamwork. It is an important part of the organizational culture of Ericsson. Before joining this company I did not had any experience of working in a team. After I got placed in Ericsson I was allocated to a particular team according to my qualification, set skills and capabilities. Initially I felt very uncomfortable to work within a team. But after the training teamwork process seems very productive and interesting to me. At the time of my training I had to perform different activities with others by working as a team. This practice helped me to develop my abilities of working with others within a team and co operating with them. It helped me to develop a bonding with my team members. Many other benefits for developing my skills of teamwork are provided by that training. I became aware of the fact that working as a team helps to solve many difficult problems easily and with innovative ideas. For implementing different projects in Asian countries I have to work in a team comprises of six other team members. Ericsson have made me understood the importance of my team members for building and implementing new business ideas and operations. Some members of my team belong from different cultures. I got the benefit of understanding and dealing with the peoples coming from other cultures. I am also responsible for looking after the billing operation of different projects of Asia. Teamwork is benefiting me a lot in this job responsibility. By developing and enhancing my abilities of teamwork. I am able to give good performance in my work. Conclusion Ericsson is one of the leading multinational in telecommunication and software industry. This company is involved into this business for a long period of time. Telecommunication and software industry has experienced many significant changes which have helped these industries to in its growth and development. Many new technologies are innovated to for satisfying the changing needs of the customers. From its very beginning Ericsson has continuously innovated new products and services which attracts different customers and clients. It has expanded its business operations in different countries of the world. Ericsson technologies have also influenced lives of the people. The company has a wide range of product portfolio which provides different products, solutions and services to the customers. Being an employee of Ericsson I am benefited from this company in many ways. I have enhanced my different skills and abilities to by doing job in Ericsson and performing my duties and responsibilities regarding the company projects in Asian countries.
