Personal Freedoms Many negative issues face the contemporary world and one of the most common one is terrorism. There has been a sharp growth in the vice over the years and thus the necessity to handle the issue critically. One can take several steps to remain safe from terrorism. Going through the various personal freedoms that an individual can sacrifice is imperative for the greater understanding of the issue (Martin 461). One of the personal freedoms I can personally sacrifice is privacy. Terrorism Is an act that affects people both directly and indirectly.

I can ensure that I use some of the resources that I have access to, whether in the office or in my home to see to it that people involved in the terrorism acts are imprisoned. If a relative living with me is involved in the crime or has such connections, I can lead officers of the law directly into my home to ensure that I do not live or rather put people at risk of a terrorist attack.Another freedom I can freely sacrifice is speech. I am a very silent person and do not engage in many conversations.

However, to guarantee that I am more secure from terrorism, I can ensure that I speak out in case I get any information to ascertain that a terrorist attack does not happen. I am also not a fun of the press and I can sacrifice my quiet nature to ensure that I speak to the press concerning a terrorist attack. Work CitedMartin, Gus. Understanding Terrorism: Challenges, Perspectives, and Issues. Chicago: Chicago University Press, 2010. Print.
