A Case Study on Diabetes al Affiliation A Case Study on Diabetes In the presented case, Lila is diabetic and her diabetesis insulin dependent. A look at her diet shows that she has not been in a healthy diet since she was young. At the moment, Lila is overweight and at the same time, she is diabetic. Thinking of this condition might affect Lila even more. She might turn into more eating and poor dietary measures, which will only increase her size. She might even hate anyone who tries to warn her about her weight.

This is exactly what happened when she was young when she chose to follow the healthy eating lifestyle presented by her mother. Like some part of the argument presented by Peter Attia, Lila’s diabetes might have been caused by obesity since it might have caused an insulin resistance in her body (Attia, 2013). Sometimes, social relationships are affected by body appearance. For example, some people may dislike her just because she is obese. She might also be despised as Peter Attia despised one of her patients since he thought that she was responsible for her diabetes and her rotten flesh.

Eventually, this stigma might cause Lila to succumb more into unhealthy eating lifestyles because of self-hatred and loss of self-esteem (Collins & Bentz, 2009). In order to avoid this problem, Lila needs to eat healthy like Peter Attia did. She also needs to undergo a Cognitive Behavioral therapy that helps in treating obesity. In this case, the health care practitioners will help treat Lila’s obesity condition, which also might be the road towards reduced diabetes (Collins & Bentz, 2009).

The following mechanisms have been proposed: 1) Genetic factors – The role played by genetic factors in the development of autoimmunity can be easily explained by single gene disorders in which there is direct correlation between the genetic variant and the disease, for example, gene for insulin in type 1 diabetes and AIRE (autoimmune regulator) in APS 1(autoimmune polyendocrine syndrome).... Sequence variations and single nucleotide polymorphism in genomic mapping have been found for diseases such as type 1 diabetes (genetic locus is in the major histocompatibility complex), Crohn's disease, rheumatoid arthritis and SLE....
