Monstrous Dis & the Cultural Moment Research Document Submitted to XXXXXXXXX Graduate Faculty of the School of XXXXXXXX in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of XXXXXXXXXX by XXXXXXXX City, State November, 2013. Abstract This document is substantial in reflecting the eminent occurrence of global problems. The discussion will attempt to prove that there is a close relationship between our human weakness of constructing decision based on race, sexes, and class. The discussion will prove how human is largely to blame for global misfortunes. The paper will appoint the good works of Francisco De Goya artistic work – Sleep of Reason, which in this case is a prophetic outlook of how human nature will create monsters, and monsters rule the world. Another close appointment is the literal works by Scott Poole Monster in America, in which the author attempts to examine how America has created its own, social, economic and political problems. The paper is structured into four main parts. Firstly, Goya presentation of Sleep of Reason; secondly, Poole discuss on Monsters in America. Thirdly, the paper will appoint the application of artifacts, which in this case, the research will elaborate how artifacts initiate monsters into action. Fourthly, the document will present an argument on the freedom monster and how it has been applied to continuously cause belligerence against humans. Table of Contents Part I 5 Cultural moment to in the understanding the context 5 PART II 6 Poole’s Monsters in America 6 PART III 8 Appointment of Artifacts in the interpretation of the two parts 8 PART IV 9 The Monsters of Freedom and development 9 The Metaphor of Monsters 10 Ambiguity and the Gates of difference 11 How Man create Monsters 12 The Presence of Monsters 13 The act of Self Consumption 14 Death and Mutation 15 Summary 16 Conclusion 17 PART I Cultural moment to in the understanding the context Scholarly, dreams present a vivid description, in which the writer focuses on social, economic and political issues. A dream may fail on the account of realism; however, descriptions presented in the dream may be applied to provide a coherent reflection of real life situations. In this case, the dream is consciously developing vivid description by applying logics and fact verification in the general concept of how practices, beliefs, and institutions are based. To present description, the combined application of art and science is so much influential in a dream, and in this case, the dream is analyzed on a rationality scale (Snow, 23). This exegesis will attempt to explore how a cultural moment – in this case influenced by dreams- creates substantive effects on the scope of social anxiety. The dream is largely applied by Goya to reflect on a given global revolution of Monsters, and how on several presentations social anxiety of the people is based on the economic and political account (Snow, 44). This reflection attempts to present how citizens consider and analyze themselves based on “self-fear, rejection, embarrassments, and criticism. Based on the setting period of the context, it is cognitive to understand, that the society was attacked diverse challenges, which by use of imagery they are presented by bats. The American cultural moment presented by sleep of reason has deep relation with scholarly aspect of thinking, intellect and cognition. Man attempts to comprehend the prevailing challenges, and analyzes them with cause, truth, effect and falsehood. However, it coherent to understand that Sleep of Reason present a personal evaluation mechanism, at which the dreamer (read a citizen) will attempt to review his inner personal feeling, for the general good of the society. As this document will endeavor, self- conscious will attempt to alter attitudes, beliefs, institutions and beliefs of the society. The individual will evaluate personal self beliefs based on the prevailing cultural moment, and in this case, establish whether he meets the required humanism threshold of that particular culture. As this document will aggrandize, close analysis will be directed of self determination to achieve economic, social and political freedoms on several accounts. Sleep of reason is based on the “reason of consideration” of cultural moment to interpret what the society is undergoing through. Psychologically, cognitive theory will attempt to engage how a cultural moment endeavors to alter neural process of a human. Thus, as this discussion will clarify, personal choices are subject to one understanding of the general society. In this light, dreams will be providing a manuscript of one personal self, where his personal life is, and what the society is required of him. PART II Poole’s Monsters in America Based on the above discussion, the literal application of Monster prevalent is symbolic to the concept of dreaming. In particular, Mists and a lonely tree can be largely considered evil, thus, and the relationship to the dream has inherent ideological preference to the cultural moment of the time. What this discussion attempts to appreciate is the application of symbolism, in this case monsters, to present the larger ideological relation of politics. The American society by then is haunted by unproductive politics. Politics in this case play a significant role in what Francisco De Goya endeavors to educate human, politics as monsters. The 1799 painting is very influential in American social and economic and political set up, taking to bank that America was a young nation barely 25 years old. Goya envisions himself in his painting table, dulled by slumber and bedeviled creatures prowl in the dark vehemently. However, on the account of considering Scott Pool text Monsters in America, the same ideas of Goya are significantly visited on different accounts. While Poole’s text is relevantly different from Goya imagery, scholarly, close consideration will establish the usage of Jersey Devil antics. Poole article is largely aggrandized to reflect on a throw-away bargain of Bin Schlock. The text endeavors to explore the dark American history with a critical presentation of fictional monstrosities, true horror, political and religious ideologies (Poole, 37). In American society, Monsters have been symbols of deviance, images of erotic desire and objects of sympathy. With this analysis, then it is cognitive to acknowledge that prevailing social, economic and political customs are the predominant cause of human suffering. Historically, the cultural moment we attempt to analyze in this discussion is one with inherent challenges of developing a free society. As Poole writes “American ideological indifference are nothing but happy bedtime stories, which in this case are afraid of the dark”. Critically, the historically developed narrative about the people and traditions of America are a total spoon feed, of what people always want to here. However, the presentation of Monsters in America attempts to explain barbarism on several accounts (Poole, 41). These narratives “as Poole argues” attempt to present a historical revisionism to reveal a particular channel house injustice. In this case, the basis of American Freedoms is not intrinsically founded on righteousness but diverse cultural, religious, political, social, and economic conflicts. Poole intrinsically attempts to fight this dogma by presenting the evil oriented reality of the operands behind American customs named above. What a diligent scholar will learn is that American struggle for freedom had a heavy price paid for it, but this should not be reminded constantly to people since there are immense skeletons behind such system. In his symbolic cover page, the application of dry tree in autumn mist and large red writings Monsters in America are significant in what is presented by the general understanding of American history. Poole text and Goya imagery have deep intrinsic relationship. They both attempt to educate a scholar the background nature of a modern society was not easily achieved. PART III Appointment of Artifacts in the interpretation of the two parts This discussion will attempt to elaborate on the inherent relationship between Goya imagery description and Poole argument. The discussion will seek an analysis of two substantive artifacts to reflect how Goya and Poole observation are technically at play. Part one and part two descriptions have attempted to analyze on a close consideration of politics as a predominant factor in the development of the evil ideology. What is eminent in this description is how ambiguous is the concept of freedom achieved. Historically, the concept of freedom is based on prevailing social and economic norms of development. Goya and Poole pieces of art are just a close reflection of a cultural moment that human beings are largely oblivious of dominating humanistic paces of development. In this case, an individual obliviously acts according to the system, and not the system attempting to change him. This discussion appoints a close artifact which could have resulted from the cultural concept prevailing in America at the time. The Statue of liberty is a weighing example of the reflection of these ideologies. In Part one, Sleep of reason, the statue of liberty can be interpreted for its historical relation to the concept of freedom. The statue of liberty, which is a gift of French People to USA, reflects political consolation that American people needed at the time. The political consolation is largely based on the persistent ambiguity of the concept of freedom. The evil creatures in sleep of reason, or the wildly bedeviling image in the Monsters in America are just an interpretation of American political health. Other artifacts which will be examined will largely related to economic freedoms, they are ; singer sewing machine, American monetary, coca cola bottles, buffalo nickels, baseball league and Cadillac rim. Secondly, this discussion attempts to examine how this freedom was achieved. It is common knowledge that the American freedom was forcefully got through a series of wars, courtesy of the 1776 American civil war, the rampant civil wars and Klu Klax aggression. In this case, it is incoherent to ignore that freedom was achieved by use of guns. A close artifact is Colt 45 which was symbolically applied by army commanders to initiate a battle in the battle front line (Grim, 29). With this knowledge at play, Part one provides a description of this achievement. Ideally, the evil creatures that Goya elaborates presents belligerence of what is happening on several accounts. The sleeping artist – who in this case, presents a largely oblivious society, can be inversely explained by the dull mist in Poole article. The close relationship between these two articles can then be consumed by the application of Colt 45 artifact. A general scholar will understand, through the use imagery, that Goya imagery and Poole cover page have distinctive features of belligerence. War in this case is applied to achieve freedoms required by the people. However, mist and the sleeping artist presents the oblivious situation that the general public is engulfed in. The liberty Statue and the Colt 45 gun are basic interpretation of cultural moments, and how they have been applied to the general concept of freedom. PART IV The Monsters of freedom and development Although the Statue of Liberty and Colt 45 were future contributors of American freedom, scholarly, this discussion cannot ignore how these items were applied on various categories to achieve freedoms of people. Freedom encompasses three main pillar, rights, freewill and liberty. Rights are the fundamental normative rules which should be allowed to people. Free will on the other hand, encompasses choices of certain factors. Free will is what an individual desires to believe or do (Grim, 57). They encompass logical and theological determinism towards a collective effort to defeat physical, social, political and economic constrains. Thirdly, liberty is the intrinsic relationship between an individual and the society. To intrinsically understand freedom, one is required to acknowledge individual roles in the society. Part one and Part two of this discussion has sought to examine the fundamental individual perception of the outlook of humanism. What man has attempted to achieve is based on the analysis of this articles is fight against coercion. That is considered paramount to achieve individual understanding of the general concept of life. In fact, the Freedom adjudicated here operates on the analysis that people ought to behave to their own personal will to achieve a certain degree of national responsibility. As the discussion below will attempt to portray, intrinsic personal responsibility should be a close examination of one self. That freedom should be protected by use of artifacts listed here below (Belle, 66). Personally driven responsibility and freedom will attempt to structure an agency to ensure egalitarianism culture. This discussion will endeavor to utilize the concept freedom to explain the various applications of Part One and Part two of this document. The description will be based on a relation between the cultural moment and the monster. The monster in this case is the oblivion that the individuals have to undergo through to achieve certain standards. The Metaphor of Monsters In an attempt to provide a striking balance between part one and part two, it is imperative to consider that Part one shed light to part two and eventually part three. Part one is categorical in application of dreams to present a futuristic understanding of life. This is the general understanding that humans are required to act with the knowledge of responsibility. The bedeviling creatures are a realistic reflection of the belligerence a society will have to initiate to achieve the concept of freedom. This is a similar presentation in Poole texts which sought to focus on the ambiguous interpretation of freedom. The application artifacts have been identified as elements of freedom which symbolically represent a heavily interpreted cost of freedom. Historically, the human race has lived in a Unified Theory, this is culture moment occasions humans to realize certain concepts of gender, culture, subjectivity, individuality which is composed of multitude fragments (Ibad, 17). The culture moment presented in this discussion has deep relation to a metaphoric presentation of crossroads which in this case attempt to pre human nature of fear, anxiety, desire and fantasy. The monster in this case presents time, feeling and place that the individual circumscribes due to various factors. The metaphorical applications of Monsters are categorical in presenting an un-descriptive image. Monsters do have incoherent bodies which in this case, will attempt to present a systematic structuring of ambiguity. Their presentation will on any event attempt to showcase a visible edge of the hermeneutic circle. Again, the basic face of a monster is scientifically presented as a crumble. The concept of fear, thriller and horror accelerate the application of ambiguity. Subject human will naturally lack substantive opposition against a monstrous presented situation. This ambiguity will therefore explain new perception of interpreting the requirement of an action. In this case, subject human will be required to develop interconnected methods of understanding and achieving the world. With this knowledge the metaphor of monsters is very imperative in this discussion on different accounts. Ambiguity and the Gates of difference Monsters relate to human beings on the analysis of flesh. A monstrous body will; therefore, present a rhetorical concept of incorporation of outside and beyond the basis of human understanding. In this case, a monstrous difference is presented on basis humanistic pillars, sexual, economical, racial and political. Part one and part two attempts to present an exaggeration of monstrous outlook. However, its analysis attempts to signify an unfamiliar simultaneous cultural response and objectivity (Grim, 29). The relationship of part one in particular, which in this case portrays the human being controlled by monsters, is vital in understanding how nature attempts to control man to perform in particular requirements. In a close examination of symbolism presented in the two parts, a diligent scholar will notice the disturbing suggestion which arises by the outlook of monsters will have close analysis denaturalized, incoherent body as well presents our human characters. In this case, we are the monsters of our own destination; we are wholly responsible of causing certain problems to ourselves. In a close example, History in its own making becomes a monsters on its several presentations. History has with time been applied as disfeaturing and a primary seed of man self deconstruction. In this case, there is an inherent danger in an attempt to reapply history to seek solutions to common man problems. How Man create Monsters With a plethora of techniques, art, and philosophy man has attempted to reorganize resources to achieve a certain growing threshold called development. To achieve that, Man has constantly used available tools; for instance, race and class to create a mechanism which will in this case creates an ontological difference of reality. In this way, the creation of believe substance; for instance, Statue of Liberty is substantial in letting man manage the ever few available resources. The Statue of Liberty can be applied to expand the dogma that Americans are free, but the concept of freedom has never been achieved – in real world, our own monsters have hijacked the faithful concept of freedom. As Poole puts it, Man is in constant oblivion, and in this case, providing narratives is necessary. If that system does not work, then our own Monsters force us to consume these doctrines (Belle, 44). A good example is the use of Colt 45 which has been historically been applied to achieve a certain force. This is a direct example of creation of monsters. The mist in Poole text or dull attitude of the artist in Sleep of Reason, attempt to presents a description of ambiguity. In this event, the misconception of freedom is largely examined in the two articles. In this case, freedom should always be genuine as stipulated by Statue of liberty by why does man then has to orient products such as Colt 45. At least the Unified Theory is categorical in explaining why man should be on the same threshold. However, man creates his own monsters and attempts to utilize them against each other. Monsters exists in several categories, and in all these cases, it is eminent that there is a kind of confusion in the whole concept of humanism. Man is largely in oblivion he is just living according to time, and not sure what the monsters will instigate. The Presence of Monsters A monster is a largely applied device in this discussion; the metaphorical concept is the most substantive to understand the nucleus of this discussion. The ambiguous presentation of human desires itself creates monsters. It is prudent to note that the monsters attempts to destroy individuals’ members of the society, as well as, the very culture are formed in. Again, the consideration that man has largely created different monsters is eminent. Monsters are in this case applied against each other on several accounts. The basic truth is that man is the one who suffers from this belligerence (Ibad, 29). Our own self created monstrous systems are on several cases, bailed out, and resist capture from philosophical teaching of morals and ethics. In this case, monsters can be at this point be exemplified as diversity in class, culture, education, religion, and social affiliation. These differences are the primary cause problems of some overriding global problems. Just to mention a few, man has never achieved perfection – fact. In this case, the emergence of nations trying to control other nations, politically, socially and economically has been eminent. Currently, the world is challenged with a plethora of problems, if not one region having a severe disease, another region is struggling with political uprising, and another region is struggling with economic challenges. The general presence of own self created monsters can be used to explain a vivid ambiguity. Man has attempted to create local and international laws to manage existing resources; however, this statue just creates more problems (Grim, 61). For instance, monsters born out of a political ground and the ever prevailing concept of self- Justifying nationalism will ground doctrines of usurpations, invasions and colonization’s. The monster grotesque body will endeavor to expand bellicose influence. This can be explained with its eminent desire of superior cultures to control actions, behaviors, protocols, and constantly scrutinizing each other. The act of self consumption Any scholar will by now have identified the grotesque body of the monster often fantasies of domination, aggression and inversion. This is a common concept of monsters at play. The prophetic presentation of Goya and Poole attempt to educate Man terrible times will come because of creation of several monsters. In this case, when a monster is constrained by geographic, generic and particular attempts of epistemic marginalization, the monster will function in a defensive manner to allure projection (Grim, 45). The monster will awaken human pleasure of dominion, richness, and control each other. These times are carnival and will attempt to present a vivid expression of play on Halloween of ambiguity. The co-optation of the monster is symbolic on the analysis of self threatening. In this case, the monster will continue performing on wish-fulfillment drama. Again, the monster will on several grounds take several forms, mutate, camouflage, and develop younger monsters with similar goals. This is made possible by emerging new powers with different ideologies and desire to control the world. A close example is China attempt to dethrone the world currency- the U.S dollar and replace it with the Yen. This is a formulation of how a particular monster is attempting to consume man. In this case, man initiated money, but not with a goal to cause belligerence against each other; however, the monster is currently in control and the violence explained on several categories is primary explanation how monsters take several forms. On the account of restoration, it is scholarly prudent to understand that Monster eradicated functions; for instance, exorcism and the long promulgated catechism are on several ground short lived. The human characteristics of anxiety combined with unlimited desires provide operational fluidity for the monster and in this case, enticing the monster to occupy a textual space in some undeniable charm. Death and Mutation One consideration that we have to acknowledge is that freedom monsters are our own making. Man has with time, through law, policies, treaties and considerations tried to un-install the operations of monsters. However, the dramatic incidence is that when man attempt to push a monster away. The monster will temporarily go on hibernation and then re- surface in a more vicious manner, this time round with full knowledge of how human operates. Monster feed on our own actions (Belle, 44). Literally, monsters ask us how we want to be, we literally give them our piece of mind. Monsters will as well attempt to supply Man with decisive answers which explain the derived expressions of outcome. Naturally, man will blame fellow man for certain failures. Man will fail on the attempt of establishing causes of a particular problem. The monster will actually circulate on the act of cultural assumption about a particular race of gender, sexuality and perception difference. The weakness established with the dwelling place of the monster. For instance, the recent Arabic uprising may have been seen to be successful in those nations. However, while some countries; for instance Tunisia, have managed to recover from the uprising. Nations like Egypt and Syria have not achieved the full advantage of uprising. In fact, the Syrian case has been categorical as a failed state. This is a full application of a mature monster. The freedom monster in this case tricked Man to initiate an uprising; however, the uprisings have caused more bodily causalities, and greater economic problems than initially agitated. The initial monster of freedom and equal presentation has mutated to an indifferent monster of social, political and economic disintegration. Summary Monsters are doctrines, they are different human natures, diversities explained in race, class, sexes, and ages. The indifference of this four presentation grounds the development of a monsters. Monsters will attempt to live amidst Man, and in any case they will, attempt to control Man intrinsic lives with the soul goal of managing the globe. A monster will analyze a case, and feed on man negligence with intent to establish itself as a legitimate player. Goya or Poole attempts to display prophetic period where monsters control the basic human live with intent to achieve global conflict. The close application a dream to examine a monster is symbolic use of prophetic adventure in which the seer is naturally engaged an intense thinking period. As an artist, Goya could have directed his interpretation in a vivid manner; however, the use of sleep and monsters constantly talks about oblivion that human beings are suffering on several accounts. Like Goya, Poole seeks to aggrandize on monster theory which in this case, is substantial in creating a vivid application of oblivion. Man is largely oblivious of what is happening around the globe. As a result, man will construct believe symbols; for instance, Statue of Liberty, however, freedom will be ambiguously misunderstood and in this case, turning the freedom itself into a monster. To ensure that freedom is achieved, Man will construct war theories; for instance, war on terror and target host countries will be engaged in varicosity. Based on the initial interpretation of Monsters, which in this case, helps to understand monsters are hatched in races, sexes, classes and ideological differences. Monsters will attempt to utilize this concept on the scale, and on interpretation, the freedom monster will create a newer monster, economic and development. With this analysis, it is wise to say that monster oblivion situations are the greatest contributor to human tragedy. Conclusion This paper has attempted to present the development of monster theories, and how monster theories are a primary contributor to human belligerence and negativity. The paper has been divided into four parts. The first section has examined an artistic image Sleep of Reason by Francisco De Goya. This section has been categorical in examining how Goya presents prophetic interpretation of the monster age. The second section, Monsters in America by Poole, is categorically in elaborating the artistic image by Goya. The third section has focused critically on how the two parts interrelate to each other and consequently appointing to artifacts which are symbolic to monster age. The forth part has been categorical in discussing the nature of freedom monster and how it has been applied to interpret ambiguous results. Work Cited Belle, Douglas.
