Assignment is due Building Collaborative Teams Complex teams in organizations are crucial for challenging tasks but less collaborative due to their large size, diversity, virtual, and high educational levels of team members. These characteristics are crucial, but still undermine the performance of the teams. To increase an organization’s power to execute complex collaborative tasks, executives can adopt various measures to build collaborative teams. Investment in signature relationship practices can encourage collaborative behavior.

This is possible through fostering communication and job rotation to facilitate career development. Executives acting as models of collaborative behavior in an organization tend to see the teams collaborate as well. When managers are collaborative, teams collaborate too. Creation of a gift culture, were employees get mentoring and coaching in both formal and informal processes, is crucial in building collaborative teams. (Lynda and Tamara 102-105). Human resource practices also play a role in ensuring collaborative teams.

They need to equip team members with necessary skills that help them in building relationships, solve conflicts and communicate well with fellow team members. Supporting strong sense of community through sponsoring group events and activities can help team members reach out to others and share knowledge. Apart from executives and HR, team leaders are significant in team collaborative behaviors too (Lynda and Tamara 107). Teams should have leaders who are task and relationships oriented. On formation and structure, teams should be built on heritage relationships, where not all team members are strangers.

Clearly defining the roles and tasks of a team encourages collaboration among members. Clarity in individual members’ roles improves corporation. As demand for complex teams in business environment to solve complex project rise, careful attention of the above factors can assemble, the expertise required to solve the complex problems (Lynda and Tamara 108).
